i'm sitting tight on the pixel 2 xl until it drops to 500-600

This is Pixel 1 XL price now. So give and take it'll be Pixel 2 XL price this time next year. (Depends on RRP of Pixel 3 XL.)

By then you'll be sitting tight on the Pixel 3 XL to drops to $500-600…

“By then you'll be sitting tight on the Pixel 3 XL to drops to $500-600…”

        hahah this cracked me up

    • Sit less tight

      • Sit pretty. If you can't sit pretty sit tight lol

    • Post back in 18 months to let us know how you went.

  • While I am still waiting for the Sharp S2 that I bought a few days ago from JoyBuy, should I buy the G6 Play instead and sell/return the Sharp? For me the most important thing is camera/video recording quality so that I can capture my son growing up.

    • +1

Probably very similar. I'd go with the S2 simply because the better hardware means faster shooting. I also wonder if software improvements will come to the S2, it's the same sensor as the HTC U11 yet has less features (although this is likely due to the processor).

Comes down to what you're shooting though. Daytime shots, either will be fine. At home in the evening you probably should invest in a flagship with OIS or a real camera.

    • I'd be looking at previous generation flagships (like the S8 in this post) if camera quality on a budget was my primary concern. Budget phones just don't hold a candle to flagship cameras, especially inside with fast moving objects (i.e. children).

    S9+ deal come on!

What? LG G7 ThnkQ only has 4GB RAM? It is 2018 or 2016

    • Why would you need 8gb or 6gb for android? Its not a PC

      • -2

Because of Androids inefficient use of available ram maybe?

  • iPhone all the way

    • +2

If you enjoy being in a restricted ecosystem and have your phone slowed down on purpose by Apple every 12 months, yes iPhone all the way

      • -1

Not true… but sure, believe that if you want.

    • If I'm dropping a grand on a phone I don't want any warranty issues. I just buy last years phone and since I'm not a power user it's all good

  • hmm.. looking at the S8 deal.. it does not seem to be better than allphones one (AU stock as well) with PAMPER20.

    $932 * 80% = $745
but with 2% off from Shopback,
    $932 * 2% = $18

    i.e. $745 - $18 = $727

I assume since both are AU stock, they are all equal in terms of warranty? Can anyone shed some light if there are differences between AU stock Allphones and MobileCiti?

  • Why not buy Google pixel 2xl off gumtree? You can get one between 650-750$ near new or new. You still get the warranty. Your brand new phone is a used phone anyway after you open the phone

    • heard few experiences where stolen goods are sold and later IMEI's are being blocked. and many times i remember warranty needs proof of purchase

  • Is G7 thinq better than v30? Worth the price difference?

  • G6 Play looks like good value apart from the weak Snapdragon 430 processor. Anyone used a phone with this processor and can comment on how fast/slow it is?

    • +1

I bought the G6 Play a couple of days ago and so far so good, really happy with it. That said, I don't have too much to compare it to since my last phone was 3-4 years old.

  • wtf anyone wana buy an information stealer like google pixel?
