  • Some good prices there. Just picked up the Phantom 4 Pro Plus V2.0 from metro for $2,239. Forgot to use CR which would have saved a few more bucks.

    • Link?

      • They've all gone. Not showing in searches now.

  • Only two available and in RED only (not white shown in picture)

Edit: It's a great price nevertheless

    • White looks sick next to my Andromeda RC Tempest.

      • White is very sleek, probably the best colour to get. Black is very good if you have like a matte black kit.

  • I paid just a little over this for the Mavic Pro Fly more combo last year. I thought the Air was a downgraded model?

    • I suppose depends how you look at it. Less fly time, and louder but super portable. Image quality is about the same

    • Nope. It's smaller but better than the pro. About as good as the pro platinum. Handles better in wind too, check YouTube.

      • +1

Handles better in the wind than the pro? Nope definitely not. The Pro has larger motors and can handle the wind better. The only thing the Platinum has over the Pro in the camera department would be fixing the issue of the pixel binning when shooting video 1080 @ 60fps which some of the earlier models have. They also fixed this on the Pro.

        • @Putnum: Ok thanks, mine doesnt bob around like that. GUy in the video might need to adjust IMU or VPU calibration (the cameras on the bottom is what keeps it so hovering still). Fighting a headind the MP beats the MA hands down.

      • Fly time(real life is around 16-18mins) and remote range(wifi connection is not reliable) are the two weakest spots when compared with pro.
Noise level is also higher to human ears but that's not something we all care.

        • Fly time depends on how you fly. I've had mine in the air for more than 20 minutes. You're right about the wifi connection though, I can only send mine about 1KM away maximum.

        • +1

@Putnum: Wind will play an important factor in flight time. On a calm day you'll get about 18mins landing on about 15% battery if youre just flying slowly around. If you're like me and prefer to flog it in sports mode all the time, I get around 9-10mins per battery.

For range, try 5Ghz instead, should be a little less noisy in this band.

    • Mavic Pro is about a year old.
Mavic Air got released earlier this year.

Pro is supposed to be the better model, but the Air has a lot of new features that weren't around when Pro was released, i.e. gesture control, much better obstacle avoidance.

And the Air is a lot smaller too, much easier to chuck it in your backpack on that hiking trip.

  • +1

I really want to jump on this, as I've wanted the Air since it's release. Just resisting to pull the trigger as I want to see what the Mavic Pro 2 will be like first.

    • If you're on the fence, You might also want to check out the Parrot Anafi which was recently announced, due next month and apparently $100 cheaper than this. Autel Evo also has a release date now, MP2 or whatever they call the Mavic Pro successor will no doubt be out soon.

      • Was just looking at the Autel Evo and looks really good. Just concerned as it will most likely be quite a bit more expensive than the air. Competition is always good though, and I suppose the price different for a better portable drone would be worth it

  • I found this one yesterday, but am not sure if it comes with australian gst

    • +1

The seller's ID is china-town-au, you tell me…

      • They claim to send it out of Sydney. But i hate that there is no way of knowing if it actually comes with australian receipt and warranty

    • +1

I emailed them 2 days ago asking if they could provide an Australian tax invoice and this was their response: "Hi, how are you, we do not provide tax invoice, thanks"

  • I managed to get $1370 at JB's the other day with their 5% off and a price match against Aus-Cameras. So this one is still $100 cheaper than that which looks good.

Mind you i managed to walk into a local shop to get it vs having this shipped to WA which is the only downside.

Like the compact size. Comparable in price to the Pro nowadadys but you buy them for different reasons. I want to take my Air in a backback for travel - arguably you can take the Pro but its bigger.

Expecting mavic pro 2 any day now (hence the discounts) but the Air was only released in early 2018 so its still got a ways to go yet before an upgrade comes in.

Good price from OP, +1 on the Air for me

  • I think it would come from Chine. "All items are despatched from Our AU/HK Warehouse." Every time I've ordered from a seller that says they have an Australian and Hong Kong warehouse, it's always been shipped from China.

    • Yea it's hard to tell, but I noticed that those who actually hold AU stock will write something like "100% AU STOCK" or "GENUINE AU STOCK" in the thumbnails or product description.

I was actually going to post the mavic air combo deal from Ted's camera eBay, coz I got it for the same price from the last 20% deal in March, I checked it last night, they still have all the DJI products listed, but they've take them down this morning, sad!

      • For warranty purposes it may not even matter if its AU stock and you get an invoice. I'm told that when you claim warranty they ask for the invoice and if its not from an authorised re-seller, they deny warranty anyway.

I bought one from eglobal from a recent ebay sale for $800 just for the quad which was a very good price even if grey import. Flies fine and more likely to crash it anyway.

Hey mate where does it say dispatched from AU/HK? I can't find it and to me it says shipped from Melbourne. Just want to check if this is actually Aus stock. Cheers.

    • +1

      If it says

Item Location: Melbourne (or any other place in Australia)

but they ship from China, I'll give them negative review.
They are plain out lying to make me buy from them

      • I think it's better to confirm with them before you hit the BUY button, it's kind sad because there are a lot of sellers doing the same shit, says ship from Aus warehouse but actually shipping from China, and Ebay can't do much about it.

  • +3

I called them. They ship from their Melbourne warehouse and provide a tax invoice. On their website it says all items have 10% gst which supports the aus stock claim. So should be good to go. Happy flying.

    • now we just need a coupon to use on it!

  • unavailable in any colours

  • I just bought mine from AustDrones eBay store. Supposed to be AU stock and is $100 cheaper than JB without the 10% off. Can’t post it on OZB because the seller isn’t top rated.

I pick mine up from the post office Saturday!
