VARTA Backupchager for Mobile/USB Device $10 Including 2 Rechargeable Batteries at OW

250

Got one from Officeworks Aspley QLD store today as my part of my flood emergency kit. I think this one got better value than the $5 Energizer Instant charger as:
-6 charging tips included (for SE, iPhone/iPod, Samsung,Motorola, Blackberry, Nokia(small), mini and micro USB devices)
-With "out" mode, you can charge any USB devices with tips included, or you can use the USB charging cable came with the USB device. I've tested it on my Nokia, Logitech mx1100(wave pro) mouse and my Chinese brand mobile (with strange charging slot). Both alkaline (non-rechargeable) and rechargeable batteries can be used.
-With "in" mode, you can use it as a batteries charger for AA and AAA batteries
-Includes 2 AA 2100mAh rechargeable batteries

It's on clearance on site, there were 5+ units in Aspley store with no "Clearance" tag. Please check the stock with your local store. Cheers!

Handling fee of $4.95 for in-store pickup is a bit much…

    • Agreed! Was annoyed when I was told I can get free delivery but have to pay "handling fee" when I made first phone order. I'd rather they throw the order on my face to avoid it LOL

  • they were selling the Energizer version with 2 E2 Lithium batteries for $5 on clearance. picked one up last week. the chargers are crap but the batteries are cheap! E2 lithium 2pack usually go for $9 or something.
check your nearest store if they have any on clearance :)

    • I got two for SE/MiniUSB version for $6 each last year. Gave one to my friend, was very useful during the power cut.
      +1 for the lithium batteries!

  • Got this on clearance sale at Woolworths yesterday for $12.

  • Got one a couple of days back, tested on 2 Nokia handsets (1 2mm connector, 1 micro usb), 1 Motorola and iPhone 4, all works like a charm.

    Bargain!

Online reviews indicated it (possibly) doesn't work on the iPhone 3GS, just a heads up.

  • Just picked up one from OW Bundoora. The price tag was $13.22 but it's only $8 at the register.

  • if the previous Varta deals are anything to go by, wait a bit more and this will come down even more!

  • I have one of these Varta chargers and it never worked for me with NiMH rechargables. Only 1.5v cells (alkaline, lithium, etc) can recharge my Nokia mobile. When loaded with 1.2v cells my mobile's charging indicator is on, but after several hours of charging no additional charge is recorded by the phone.

  • $8 at Freo. Will keep a one in the glove box. Thanks.
They still have the energiser ones with 2 lithium AA cells for $5, but no micro-USB on that.

    • will it cause any damage or discharge from the heat in the glove box?

  • Thanks to the OP ; )

Scored one for $8 here in WA!
