Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 1850 $11 from Officeworks (Elsewhere $15- $20)

190

First deal post etc etc.

Was looking for a cheap wireless mouse for my kids' laptops. Was cheap enough to avoid going for a $5 eBay special from China. Googling seems to tell me next cheapest sellers are $15-$20 (and some of them are online only). Picked up 3 from Officeworks Buranda yesterday, also available on their eBay store. Even includes a brand new Alkaline battery to get you away. Worked right away with Windows 10 as you'd expect. Seems just as good as a simple Logitech etc, even has the smaller style nano-USB adapter which means no getting bumped when it is left in a laptop's USB port. Usual disclaimers about cheaper optical mice apply - won't work on glass and no extra buttons beyond left/right/scroll wheel.

Not sure if this is a normal price or a special.

Cheap as chips. Shame it's not Bluetooth, I don't like taking up a usb port. Probably gonna get anyway.

Not to mention a security concern

    • I tried a BT mouse some years ago, battery life and speed of waking up were a bit poor. Things may have changed since then though, but I'm happy to forego a port.

Not a deal. Cheaper from eBay from china

    • Sorry I thought I had done a look on eBay. I only found 1 seller cheaper, which was a computer store in Victoria that only had one in stock and was pickup only for $10. Couldn't see any China suppliers for this model of mouse.

      • I don't think MS brands any white label products, could be wrong.

Combine with Chromecast 2 at $44 and the 5% off code, you will get it all delivered for free at $52.25 :-)

  • i got it for my dad then bought one for myself to replace an old razer orrochi because it was pretty comfortable setting up his computer. I didnt want a bluetooth mouse as i use a bluetooth headset. Its a pretty solid mouse, comfy to use but only three buttons and scroll (dont miss the thumb ones that much)

  • Logitech Wireless Combo MK270R seems better value when on sales around $20 - $28. The battery last ages and one nano-receiver USB for both mouse and keyboard. I pack just the mouse with me when on the go and when I am back at home I use both mouse and full size keyboard. One set for multi uses. Save some $$…

    • i think that is the one i bought prior to the MS mouse, the keyboard was so appalling, even cheap chinese stuff was better and less noisy. The mouse wasnt memorable. Logitech doesnt seem to be what it used to 20-15 years ago :o

      • Been using mine everyday for over a year now and never had any issue with the keyboard. I code a fair bit so I prefer clicky keyboard.

  • I have this and would recommend. I don't use it much though, have had it plugged into my macbook for so long that I sometimes forget I have it.

  • Just bought this mouse and hooked it in windows 10 pc - works without any configuration. Feels solid. Looks good. $11 is a good price.
I don't think this is a deal though - this was the normal price at officeworks.
