Phillipdi.com - Order #8300 - Item Not Received

Hi OzB,

I ordered https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382806 and paid via PayPal on 06/06/2018 this was to be "sent from Melbourne to you by express post (should arrive the next day)" (lol) so 07/06/2018 or 08/06/2018.

No mention at the time of order of back-ordering, just a Brand New and Genuine iPhone 6, in the Original box and "sealed" with Free Express Shipping from Melbourne.

When this item didn't arrive promptly, I messaged the seller via OzB on 13/06/2018:

"Hi,
Just thought I would check in with you about Order #8300 placed and paid for
on Jun 6 via PayPal. Hasn't shown up yet…"

The following day Thursday 14/06/2018 the seller advised me high demand/over-ordered and on Friday 15/06/2018 said "Worst case I got new stock coming Wednesday/Friday, I will re-send it out then :)"

Yesterday 22/06/2018 I messaged the seller via OzB:
"Hi,
I just thought I would check-in with you and see if the Order #8300 has been dispatched."

No response from the Seller and the Orders Status remains as "Processing"
so I guess dispatch still hasn't happened…

This Order has turned from a simple purchase into a now protracted matter where I have had to contact the Seller twice following payment on 06/06/2018 for an Item that their Stock Control should have indicated was over-ordered prior to my message asking when my Order was on 13/06/2018.

I'll send another message to them today via OzB messages and to their contact listed at https://www.phillipdi.com/contact/ but I post this in the hope the seller may see it and action the immediate dispatch of a Brand New and Genuine Unlocked iPhone 6, in the Original box and "sealed" with Free Express Shipping as promised.

Looking at the feedback from that thread, it might be preferable to just seek a refund.

    • +3

Not just the feedback, look at all the negatives on previous deals

Suggest OP posts question on original deal as well.

      Hi, Thanks for your responses.
I think that seeking a refund is a live option.

  • +1

So I sent the following as a last attempt to get something to happen.

    "Hi,

I refer you to my message of Fri, 22/06/2018 - 11:02.

In your message of Fri, 15/06/2018 - 16:51 you said "new stock coming
    Wednesday/Friday, I will re-send it out then :)"

I messaged you Fri, 22/06/2018 because I spent Thursday 21/06/2018 at home hoping for a delivery following a possible dispatch from you on 20/06/2018 Wednesday. Nothing came on Friday, 22/06/2018 either.

Can you please by return message (or E-mail) confirm if dispatch occurred yesterday, Fri, 22/06/2018.

If so, can you update the Order Status from "Processing" to "Dispatched" and advise a Tracking Number for Order #8300.

    Thanks,

      Hi,

I understood from the exchange of messages we have had since I contacted you on 13/06/2018 about the purchase made and paid for on Jun 6 via PayPal and from the commitment you made:

      "phillipdi on Fri, 15/06/2018 - 16:50
ok, its a good thing you have a memorable name! haha"

      "phillipdi on Fri, 15/06/2018 - 16:51
Worst case I got new stock coming Wednesday/Friday, I will re-send it out then :)"

that dispatch would occur Wednesday 20/06/2018 or Friday, 22/06/2018 without further issue or further follow-up on my part being required.

I did look at the "Contact Us" section of your website and would mention that it requires a Phone (required) contact input.

At the time of ordering from you on 06/06/2018 my existing Mobile Phone was functioning but in the ensuing weeks the battery being old fault has worsened, so I didn't feel happy putting a number in that I couldn't be reliably contacted on.

I also chose not to buy a new battery for my old phone, because the original https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382806 offer from you said "Auspost Express Post" which is usually next day and at the time it was just functioning and seemed unnecessary to buy a battery with a new iPhone from you only a day away…

Also you are now referring to an "iphone 6s" as being the reason
you ran out of stock, but a quick check of Order #8300 shows it wasn't
an "iphone 6s" but a "Unlocked New Apple iPhone 6 16GB - Grey $239.99 AUD Free Express Shipping × 1" ordered.

So, I was very surprised today (24/06/2018) when you messaged me:
      phillipdi on Sun, 24/06/2018 - 11:38 new
"Hi there what did you buy? What email are you quoting?"

      Sigh…

I'm very concerned about this order and I think I have been polite and (very) patient in this matter.

I'm happy to receive delivery of the item exactly as described prior to 5PM Australian Central Standard Time tomorrow to the address I have nominated as per your message of:

      phillipdi on Fri, 15/06/2018 - 16:51
Worst case I got new stock coming Wednesday/Friday, I will re-send it out then :)

which would mean you dispatched it on the latter of the two dates that you advanced.

As I have also bought a Belkin Case for this iPhone on 6 Jun.
at 9:46 pm, I'm really rather reliant on your confirmation that dispatch occurred on the days you nominated or, failing this, that you will arrange today at your expense for courier delivery to my nominated address and further provide me with a Tracking number.

Surely you jest. You, or whoever it is that does customer service, failed to follow up with the customer after your reply on Friday, 15 June.

      New stock coming Wednesday/Friday

I'm sorry but that is not good enough. Which Wednesday, the coming Wednesday, or the second Wednesday after 15 June? Or will it be Friday?

Were you prepared to follow up with this customer on Wednesday, 20 June re stock arrival or if not, advise the customer of further delay or a possible cancellation and refund?

I will re-send it out then

Was it sent in the first place? If not, it will not be re-sent. You made false promise.

Either you or the person who does customer service has zero business acumen.

Please follow up on order #8300 - either fulfill the order or communicate with the buyer to organise a refund. A good business would have turned this PR stuff-up around by offering a reasonable compensation to remedy this situation. That is with the assumption you still want to advertise your business on Ozbargain

Holdenmg purchased a PHONE on 6 June for god's sake. Are you even operating in Australia?

    • +6

Im not aure if your aware but ozbargain isnt the contact us secion of our website

Are you trying to sarcastically shame a customer who has a genuine issue with your poor business practices and failure to effectively communicate supply issues and promptly respond to their query?

"Hi there what did you buy? What email are you quoting?"

What's the purpose of an Order No. if you don't know what was ordered?

      • +3

        ooh, I think I know this…

It looks good on the orders page.

Bonus points if the word "Processing" is thrown in there. :+)

Honestly the excuse being advanced that the "iphone 6s" ran out of stock was in the case of the iphone 6s someone posted the private deal.

But I never even ordered an iPhone 6s…

Permission to treat the witness as hostile?

        • +2

Permission granted. Hours ago he told me here your matter is resolved!

        • +1

          @PJC:

          No, it isn't resolved.

If I don't receive the iPhone tomorrow by 5PM this will escalate.

        • +2

          @holdenmg: Keep us informed.

        • @holdenmg: The latest I have is…

Its being resolved as we speak.

    • Was that it … the apology you refer to below?

I apologised about the situation, now get over it.

    "phillipdi on Sun, 24/06/2018 - 13:55

Hi I thought you got my email?

So if you can please open a paypal dospute because I cant get confirmation from the warehouse about the phone.

Or you can wait until we restock in a week"

    holdenmg on Sun, 24/06/2018 - 14:25

    I got an E-mail 6 Jun. at 2:09 pm when registering …

and Your PhillipDi.Com order receipt from June 6, 2018 at 6 Jun. at 2:13 pm

    Nothing else.

It would be usual in the circumstances not to switch modes of communication and to follow-up with confirmation of dispatch.

I'd ask you to re-read the messages you have sent that I relied on and propose a solution that gets me either the phone I ordered or an equivalent
    to my nominated address tomorrow.

    I trusted you!

Hi mate, I'd request that you delete this thread until I resolve the issue then you can post it in full.
I also request that you stick to one form of messaging instead of switching beteen email and ozbargain as its hard to keep track……
I also request that you look at your OZBARGAIN email and accept the refund

    • OK then, is that the apology you refer to here …

I apologised about the situation, now get over it.

… it really doesn't resemble an apology.

    • +2

I'd request that you delete this thread…

It's here, and will remain here, for all those people to read that you'll miss as clients.

Talk about own goals … a marketing cluster puck.

    Hi,

If you give me a moment, I will message you.
I'm certainly not ashamed of what I have posted because it is a verbatim extract of what has been said by me and promised by you.

I haven't switched between email and posting via OzB messages at any time as you claim and the only E-mail I ever got from you was on Registering on your site and a Receipt for the iPhone I didn't receive.

If you will be patient and let me type my message to you I will try and explain why I don't think a refund (which I would be entitled to in any instance) or your offer of an iPhone 6s at a higher price is appropriate.

I'm not in a position to delete this thread because I have received advice it may form part of a chain of correspondence.

But, I acknowledge that we are in contact again and we are trying to resolve this.
