Wi-Fi Extender Recommendations < $40

Can anyone recommend a good wifi extender <$40?

This is to extend wifi off Telstra Gateway Sagemcom F@ST 5355 (truly terrible).

The aim is to get better wifi signal for a mi box - powerline adapters and cabling not suitable…

I have looked at older threads but thought there might be better newer options.

Currently looking at this one below - but ideally prefer alternatives with AU plug…

    • Are these USB style as good as wall adapter style?

  • Buying a cheap wifi extender is not a good way to fix this problem.

A better way would be to buy a wireless router that performs well, turn off wifi and NAT on the ISP router, plug your new router into your ISP router. But your probably going to need more than 40 dollars.

    • Agreed…. cheap wifi extender = world of pain.

      • i'm going to give the mi wifi repeater 2 ago.

        thanks.

      • 100% working and ended up being a great solution to my specific problem.
ended up getting the xiaomi wifi extender.

    • thanks for the response.
it's not for me soi am on a limited budget here.
the only use it will have is for a mi box in another room.

  • +1

Yes your budget isn't enough to do what you want.

        • it was actually a lot cheaper than my budget!
