  • Ordered mine 2.5 hours ago and just got a notification that my order was cancelled. really not happy about this.

Chat is busy and can't find a number to call

  • +1

I haven't received any cancellation email. But I would be extremely peeved if they cancel the order.

I actually received a "confirmation order" email. Here's hoping they won't reneg on that.

  • +1

…hmmm? oos and cancelling orders…very unlike wiggle

  • +1

Does seem crazy if they cancel all these orders…..even the listing says 73% off RRP. Surely that would make the pricing of these tyres less likely to be a pricing error?

    • +1

@nortyjak Agreed. I raised the same issue with the Wiggle Chat Team and was told a "Team Leader" will be in contact soon - aka buck pass so they don't cop the blame.

      • Yeah, sadly these days no one wants to put up their hand and officially say "we made a mistake, its my/our fault". It's like they are worried we are going to all sue them or something. I have been having a few serious issues with ANZ bank at the moment and although it eventually all might work out ok, at no point have ANZ put their hand up and says "oops, sorry, our mistake". If they just were a little more honest and open then I think people would actually just let it go and move on. Instead, it gets passed around and around, just like what seems to have happened here with Wiggle. Anyway, no biggie!

        • It's like they are worried we are going to all sue them or something.

Clearly you haven't been reading the comments when a retailer makes a price error. ;)

Half the comments will be "LODGE COMPLAINT WITH ACCC!!! CONTACT FAIR TRADING!!! SCAM!! BAIT AND SWITCH! BRING OUT THE PITCHFORKS!!!"

Unfortunately there's a lot of entitled people around who believe stores are not allowed to make mistakes, and if they do, the people deserve to be compensated even though they knew it was a price error.

        • Got a reply from my enquiry.

'Thank you for getting in touch regarding your order XXXX.

I am sorry but this order could not be fulfilled and cancelled due to the ricing[sic] error of the Continental 2 Grand Prix 4000S II 25c Tyres and 2 Tubes.

This item should be back in stock in the future but we cannot guarantee when this will be exactly at present.'

          @BadHorse:

I expect that it will be back in stock very quickly actually because canceling orders place for this item doesn't use up the stock that those orders were placed against. For them to claim they are out of stock currently is almost certainly bull.

        • @eug: Yeah this is so true! Having said that, I think its just a funny sign of the times that these huge companies use words like "price error" rather than "yeah, sorry about that, Jimmy in sales made a mistake, he left off a zero or a one when he updated the price".

The term "Price error" just seems so be so much more less human and so much more ambiguous, which is I think the way these big companies prefer to be seen. Never mind though, it was just a set of tyres!

        • @jdr:

Yeah its disappointing. The rep I spoke to on the chat seemed to indicate that it wasn't a pricing error. SO i don't know who to believe

'ah yes i just refreshed my screen, looking into this the tryres that we where selling on this promo have sold out as they got very popular, as you can imagine due to the price. We are due more stock back in soon however we cannot promise the price will be the same '

Also as a side note, the 'Feedback to the CEO' page in the Term and Conditions section of the website is just a heading with no content.

  • Price was pretty sharp so Im sure no one is really suprised

  • +2

In other news….these are sharply priced!

    https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-ultegra-br-r8000-brake-… $115.28 Delivered to Aust.

    • Who is buying caliper brakes these days, all about Disc brakes now!

  • Still haven't received a cancellation. In fact had a reply from Wiggle earlier this evening in response to a question about the stem length of the tubes.

  • +1

Looks like they're honoring the early orders, just got an email - "It's been picked and packed! The following order has been confirmed and sent out for you via the delivery method selected."

Feel bad for everyone else who had theirs cancelled.

    • Yep, "Dispatched" for me.

    • Yeah, my order was around midday yesterday and it's picked and packed. At least they are honouring some of them I suppose.

      • yeah mine too, they're probably honouring the ones that they had stock for but an 'out of stock' notice is enough of a red flag for their automated system to halt an order & give them the option to reject it… the others just get automatically sent out to the warehouse with no human intervention :D

  • +1

Mine's been shipped. I bought this deal, plus a new chain to bring it over $80 for the free shipping.

  • Mines been picked and packed too.

    • Me too! I feel very fortunate!!! Despatched, with a new set of bibs and was able to use the voucher. Thanks Wiggle. Sorry to those whose orders were cancelled.

  • ….damn. wish i jumped on this when i first saw it rather than doing research, reading reviews etc.

  • Oh nice surprise! It has been picked and packed and sent. I bought 2 sets so 4 tyres 4 tubes

  • These tires are fast and grippy. However the side walls invariably blow about half way through the life of the tire. A bit disappointing if you pay the full $50-$60 per tire. But at this price it's a bargain

    • Really? Never had that happen in 4 years riding on these tires.

    • I've been through about 4 of them. All failed the same way.

      • Could be a bad batch. I went through two Durano Plus tyres whose side walls busted within the first few weeks.

  • I'm going to try price match… Maybe at ProBikeKit. Might not work since it's out of stock

  • +2

Placed my order yesterday at 3PM. Mine has been picked and packed.
I purchased something else in my purchase to get free shipping.
referred myself and created a new account. Received 2 x vouchers (a total value of ~AUD30) to spend within 90 days.

    • +4

Better spend it within 4 days, otherwise it'll have a total value of $27. ;)

    • Now that's OzBargaining

  • If anyone in Sydney bought more than 1 set and didn't get it cancelled, and if you're willing to, I'd like to buy a set off you.
I've been meaning to buy a set, had it in my cart for a few weeks now. Sad I missed out. :(

  • Looks like the chance of this item selling at that price again isn't great. In the last day or so it has been upped to AU$110.98

  • And magically they are already back in stock ….. for about double the price.

    • …yeh ive noticed wiggle are pretty magical with their pricing / stock availability too. :P

    • And magically they are already back in stock ….. for about double the price.

They've already said it was promo pricing for a batch of stock that they had. The stock ran out quickly as you can imagine. They got new stock in at regular price after that. Nothing magical about it.

    • and magically now theyre worth another $5…now AU$110.98.
once gst kicks in tomorrow AU$122.80…
      :(

  • Has anyones arrived yet? Auspost tracking shows mine was received at Auspost Sunshine Vic on Wednesday 27/06 but nothing since.

    • Received the Tubes today. I thought they forgot the tyres but they seem to be coming in another separate parcel.

      • Received tyres today

    • Mine's due today.

      • Received in full.

    • Mine arrived (VIC) yesterday - 2 tyres, 2 tubes plus a spare chain I ordered to get the free shipping, all in the same box.

  • Anybody picked up extras or wish to sell one or both with profit to QLD please PM me

    • +1

Check ebay and/or gumtree. Have already seen a handful there. Prices are below retail but not far off as expected…
