  • There is a code on the link page for the cam PIZZAZZ for $89.10. Not sure if there are conditions for use of that code if you are doing it with the ebay plus.

    Maybe try just getting a 64G card. Believe there is a samsung one on the deals at moment. Cheaper outlay. The SD cards will need regular replacing as they dont last WR all the time and tend to just flack out after a while.

    • What would be a sd card specifically for dash cam? would hate to kill a 64gb or 128gb card if they dont last based on the intended purpose.

      • Get a high endurance card. There are multiple brands of these (Sandisk, samsung, transcend etc). They are pricier per MB and have a slower min write speed but are designed to be constantly written/rewritten. You can use a normal micro SD and they will work, but they do play up after a while.

  • 128gb is overkill. Recordings are looped so you just save the ones you want to keep.

    • Unless you tend to spend 4 hours on the road in one sitting.

      • And why would you want to keep a record of 4 hours of driving?

        • In case something was to happen in those 4 hours? I wouldn't want it to rewrite itself at a crucial moment.

          @Clear: This dashcam has no parking mode. So anything that happens you will be witness to, in which case you can manually save the footage.

        • A typical speeding ticket comes in the mail 2 weeks after the incident. If you don't have at least 2 weeks worth of recording then that would be pretty useless to contest it.

          After two years of using one of these, I can honestly say for daily drivers 128gb is a minimum for 1080p recording.

          Some people say you can manually back up, true, but you would be condeming yourself to diligent backups every odd day….kinda defeats the purpose of a set'n forget black box for your car.

    • theoretically double the lifetime of 64gb

      • But it's more than double the price

        • also half the chance of failure on your dashcam footage

        • @phunkydude: Mate, I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you cite some sources?

        • -3

          @Ryanek:

          Source = 128gb divide by 64gb = 2

    Much better to get the 119S for more clarity. Incase those incidents clear mentioned happen you need a clearer image. No use getting a recorder which doesnt really record. GPS module can be bought as an add on later if cost is an issue.
    You may need that plate number specially at night

    • The A119 actually has more detail during the day than the 119S due to higher resolution, so it depends on usage. Whilst the A119S is slightly better at night it is still worthless for moving vehicles.

  • I went with the A119S over the A119 as the A119s has a better sensor for night recording. The 1080p day time recording is pretty good too.

    Linky to the A119S+GPS that i bought https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/292567028640 with the 10% off ebay voucher going around it'll be $108. Its AU stock with Express delivery too. I bought a 64gb card off the hardly normal sale it for $29 i think it was.

    • Thanks for your recommendation. Looks like the ebay listing is much more higher than previous bargain posted on ozbargain. Looks like to sit back and wait for deals to come along. Probably Clear can assist on this. =)

      • Previous Ebay listing are all older models, this is the newest one. The price isn't too bad.

        If youre going to do the installation yourself and dont want to occupy the ciggy slot then goto jaycar and get a 12v female ciggy slot, then go autobarn and get a blade fuse tap approriate to your car. the one for my car was a micro blade fuse and it came with a 10a (for the original ciggy slot) and 5a (which is for the dash cam). find your car's ciggy fuse and tap it with the fuse tap wire it all up and tuck all the wires in and walla. youre done.

        alternatively all these parts can be bought from ebay instead of a bricks and mortar store.

        • Where do the wires get tucked?
