not really, the money goes towards supporting various charitable organisations.

once you've used 2 or 3 of the 1/2 price or bogof vouchers on a nice steak meal somewhere you've "saved" the amount the book cost you in the first place.

There's not many 1/2 price or BOGOF vouchers in them anymore (or at least not the Canberra one). At best most were 20% off up to $25. I had it last year and hardly used the thing and the deals weren't good enough for me to actively go to a restaurant which had a deal.

Melbourne CBD one has lots of buy one main meal get the 2nd one free or half price up to X amount of $. Not to mention BOGOF attractions like Eureka Skydeck / Aquarium etc. Soon pays off the book in savings.

Strongly disagree. I use my book all the time and save plenty of money.

Sorry to tell you this but you either need to dine out more or go back to primary school and do maths again.

In my case i don't live paycheck to paycheck , nor do i have the need to use discount vouchers at restaurants.

But enlighten me on some of these skillful math skills you have.

        • +4

Why dont you use discount vouchers? Too rich? Have too much sydney house properties?

          Get away from ozbargain then

@Turd: They're just trying to justify their dumb comment with more dumb comments.

save plenty. easily get the purchase amount back with afew spends

  • If I buy the physical book can I download the app and redeem offers in the app too?

    • nope, it's either one.

    • what the post above says I guess.

  • Just download the app its a lot lighter.

  • :( last year that had both these offers combined

  • "For FREE postage, select eParcel deliveries"

What does the 'e' mean in eParcel?

    • Electronically lodged

    • You'll get a 300 page PDF via email and print the book yourself :)

  • You're better off going digital. I found my use of the vouchers rose significantly just due to the fact that I always had all the vouchers with me.

    • I keep thinking this but then you can't trade and we always trade with family and friends.

If it's family or anyone you trust with your login, you can always let them use what coupons they want when they need on their phone.

I sometimes let someone else use mine so I added them in and when they needed a coupon, I deactivate it on my app and they activate it on theirs to redeem. Takes about 20s and has never been an issue.

        • Really good to know, thanks.
That might finally tip me over into the digi version.

Can anyone tell me, if I purchase another book for another city under the existing members discount, is it automatically registered to my account, or can it be activated with a new account like normal? Would like to buy one for someone moving there.

EDIT: Actually, not to worry. Continued through checkout to see what happens, and at payment stage asks whether it's for me and to activate against my email or let someone else activate it later..
