Panasonic Lens 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 $97 (Excludes $8 Delivery) @ Harvey Norman

360

Found this online whilst looking for a travel zoom for my son. Bought 2 of them as we both have Micro Four Thirds cameras.

$97 click + free click and collect if you can find any stores with it in stock. Otherwise $7.95 for delivery (what I had to do).

Normal RRP is $199 at JB HiFi and other retailers. Cheaper than previous deals listed on OzBargain ($150).

UPDATE:
They also have the 40-150mm F4-5.6 for $197 (RRP $289): https://www.harveynorman.com.au/panasonic-lumix-g-45-150mm-f…. Not sure of stock levels in stores.

This seems like a good deal!

The Panasonic Lumix G 45-150mm F4.0-5.6 CSC Lens is on special as well, for anyone interested,

    • Thanks for pointing out. I'll update the OP to include that.

  • Any of them fit Sony a6000

    • No.

    • Different mount - the panasonic and the olympus use the Micro Third Fourth sensors (and mount type)

  • Will these fit cannon yeos

    • No. this is M4/3.

  • +1

Pity it's not the Panasonic 12-32mm.

  • Which M4/3 camera fit this lens? Is there any good deal? I guess 14mm is not wide lens.

    • Panasonic GH, G, GX and Olympus M/43 cameras

      • Thanks. Is this lens the same as Olympus M.Zuiko 14-42mm II R Lens? Thinking to buy OM-D E-M10 MKII body only

        • Same mount, and same focal length and f-stop range. You'd need to check reviews to see the sharpness and auto-focus speed difference.

My son has a Panasonic G7, so the Panasonic lens was preferred over Olympus one as it has stabilisation in the lens. The G7 camera can take advantage of it. Most of the Olympus cameras have stabilisation in the camera.

  • 14mm in Micro Four Thirds is equivalent to 28mm in full frame. So standard wide lens, not ultra-wide like a 7mm Panasonic/Olympus. Still wide enough for most uses.

Wonder if anyone will actually need this. If you buy a new camera you probably have one at a kit lens. If you are enthusiast or professional you probably won't be looking for this anyway

  • got this lens for this price also. if you do click-an-collect HN will send the stock to your preferred pick-up location(i picked it up in Chadstone, stock came from Horsham). Great lens for what it is, especially at this price. i have it on a Olympus EM10, so the OIS from lens and camera make it smooth. pretty sharp, but not as sharp as my 24/70 2.8 on my Nikon d610.

on a side note, HN customer support was shocking when trying to organise the pick-up at Chadstone. if i hadn't followed up and lodged a complaint i would still be waiting for the lens…..

Not sure the OIS in Panasonic lenses work in Olympus bodies, and vice versa. Think the two manufacturers' OIS only work in their own bodies. Could be wrong but worth doing a Google search. Having said that, Olympus OMD bodies have the best image stabilisation of any camera system. So you'll be fine.

      • You are correct. Olympus uses in body only and won't make use of panasonic lens stabilisation. Better lenses, and reasonably priced, would be the 25mm 1.8 and 45mm 1.8. I've had a 12mm f2 on for a while now and like it. It was expensive for what it is though.

Fuchal - the promised land! Is that you, Cloister?

    • 20 years I've been using this handle online. You are the first person to know the reference. Remember the hats were supposed to be green.

      • Haha love Red Dwarf. I guess it is a very obscure reference, even for people who've watched the show a lot (series 3 onwards is more accessible than she's 1).

I remember the cat people had five sacred laws that Closter had handed down to them. Dave had broken all of them himself except the last one and only then because there were no sheep on board.

My handle has likewise been used for about 20 years - had to come up with something for a website where my usual username (first name+surname) was already taken, so entered the first thing that came to mind - a flash Gordon reference…. Twenty years later, it's become part of my identity…

  • Fits gh5 right? both?

    • +1

      Sure does!

  • On the one hand, good bargain. On the other, you're supporting Gerry Harvey.

    • True and true. But a bargain is a bargain…

This lens is for those who knows nothing about cameras.

    • I know a little bit more than nothing, and I'm wondering what you would actually use this lens for? Wouldn't the kit lens be nearly this wide?

      • I'm guessing it is because it is stabilised

    • @Ca6leguy Hope you find happiness in life.

  • Thank You Bought Both for delivery $302 :)

    Fitz Fuji x100?

    • fuji x100 isn't in ICL system… and it is a crop sensor

  • Does anyone know how these would go on the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K

    Some specs listed include

    Effective Sensor Size
    18.96mm x 10mm (Four Thirds)

    Lens Mount
    Active MFT mount.

    Lens Control
Iris, focus and zoom on supported lenses.

    Dynamic Range
    13 Stops.

  • UPDATE: They also have the 40-150mm F4-5.6 for $197 (RRP $289)

Not any more; it's showing $347 on the link you provided.

    • I managed to place an order for 40- 150mm (80-300) in Fortitude valley as it showed in stock but now HN is backtracking even though I have paid through Paypal. This is Hardly Normal but the money has been paid and I will delight in waiting for delivery for $197. Gerry-at-trick can suck it up!

      • I hope it comes good for you. Keep them to their word.

  • Has anyone had their order shipped yet? I'm assuming they are backlogged with orders to process.
