I've driven there a few times before. There is a grace period of about 15 minutes from when you first enter, so if you can quickly park, grab the freebie, then quickly get out, you haven't paid a cent! There is also a handful of 15 minute spots on River Boulevard.

Not that I have ever come across, but pretty much every boom gate car park has a similar grace period, so you can get out without paying. Most common reasons are change of mind (wrong car park, too expensive) or if there are no spaces left (happened to me at the South Melbourne Market the other day).

Took advantage of this offer this morning and found their coffee to be pretty good. It's a shame the place is in the middle of a shopping centre with no atmosphere of a real cafe to laze around with a paper.
