          Price match at Bunnings cafe

        • @chumlee:

          No Bunnings at Victoria Gardens Richmond.
          Closest one is in Hawthorn.

          You can scan any Coles or Kmart docket.

          BYO or pick one up from the ground.

          Nobody would drive/Park at VG for just a free coffee. You would be there for other reasons.

          Regardless, if you need to spend money before getting it free, it is not a freebie.

          The only way it's a freebie, is if you walked there instead of driving.

          @jv:

          Shrug, you brought up Parking.

          There is free parking by scanning a Coles/Kmart receipt. Look on the ground for one. Just like KFC/HJ.

          Every other Freebie would have the same issue.

          That requires a purchase. They don't give out free receipts.

          No, freebies should not require a purchase. Read the posting rules.

          @jv:

          Where is a purchase required to claim this deal?

          If you decide to drive, that's your choice and expense.

          So maybe you should read the rules rather than add your own cost to the Freebie.

          If it's not walking distance, you don't have a choice.

      I've driven there a few times before. There is a grace period of about 15 minutes from when you first enter, so if you can quickly park, grab the freebie, then quickly get out, you haven't paid a cent! There is also a handful of 15 minute spots on River Boulevard.

      • There is a grace period of about 15 minutes from when you first enter

        I wasn't aware of that… Is it documented anywhere?

        • Not that I have ever come across, but pretty much every boom gate car park has a similar grace period, so you can get out without paying. Most common reasons are change of mind (wrong car park, too expensive) or if there are no spaces left (happened to me at the South Melbourne Market the other day).

        • @melbourne guy:

          but pretty much every boom gate car park has a similar grace period

          Can you show me where it says it's 15 minutes?

  • Not to take anything about the Freebie…

    But you two are WAY off topic, the fact the offer was FREE and you are complaining about parking costs.

    Take it else where, this is getting too childish. Both of you (JV & Melb) should know better. There is private Messages for your banter.

    In case you haven't worked it out, VG, find a Coles/Kmart docket, other stores work as well and just use that.

    It's not rocket science as one puts it.

    The Offer is FREE, meets OzB's guidelines.

    HOW you obtain it, is not OzB's problem or anyone else here.

    Next thing you would be saying, the Freebie is not free because of the cost of fuel and wear on my tires and my 86 Toyota Corolla dropped some Oil on the way.

    Seriously!

  • Took advantage of this offer this morning and found their coffee to be pretty good. It's a shame the place is in the middle of a shopping centre with no atmosphere of a real cafe to laze around with a paper.
