Panasonic Eneloop Rechargable Pack (8x AA, 4xAAA, 1x Charger) $38.47 Delivered @ ozzyonline eBay (eBay Plus Required)

PENNY5

I needed some Rechargeable batteries for my logitech harmony remote as im going through cheap phillips AA's like crazy and feel guilty for the waste.

This looks to be a decent deal. I Saw the Varta deal which are a good battery, but the Eneloop are supposed to be the best. Includes 8 X AA, 4 X AAA and a charger for just $38.47 with the Penny5 code. I hope no one finds a better deal now ive bought this ;)

I presume this charger will would work with any battery of this type, if anyone can confirm if you could use the Varta batteries with this one that would be good.

Saw this exact same kit for sale at Costco the other day for $31.99. Requires membership though, obviously.

    It's been a long time…

  • July is title improvement month.

    • In future, please mention the store/retailer as well as the price in the title.

That's been fixed. Moderators and power users spend time fixing titles throughout the day and any help is appreciated. Thanks for posting!

Lol are the titles people post so bad we had to have a month for fixing it?

August is going to be the shitty comments improvement month.

      • It would appear so

    • I wonder if there's a technical solution - some kind of smart parsing that can detect if users missed these.

  • I've got a charger, now if a deal for those eneloop chocolates or equivalent come along it will be great

    Any deals without the charger?

  • is this a good charger ?

    • Yes

No, it's a "dumb" charger, also known as a timed charger.

This type of charger will push a full charge into the battery, irrespective of how much charge the battery needs. Once a battery reaches full, the extra charge turns into heat, which damages the battery. You'll probably get dozens of charges before your batteries fail, but you won't get anywhere near the rated 2100 charge cycles.

"Smart" chargers continually monitor the battery, and stop charging when the battery reaches full. You need a smart charger to get the maximum life from rechargeable batteries.

Smart chargers start at about $15 and are regularly listed here on OzBargain. More expensive smart chargers have more features, like displays instead of indicator lights, and the ability to charge lithium-ion batteries. If you have a charger with a display, you can tell when a battery is starting to fail, so you can either replace it or change how you use it, for example cameras and camera flashes are very demanding of batteries, while TV remote controls are very gentle on batteries.

  • Such a shame to list this ebay user. Could they be more dodgy with their product sourcing?
