            • @iversonjack: Did you receive the bonus points yet? Its more than 3 months and 3rd statement after meeting min spend and no bonus points.

              • @duna0104: I haven't got mine and it's been more than 3 months. I lodged a complaint with Westpac last Friday and they advised that they have sent it to the team to investigate. I figured lodging a complaint was going to get more attention than calling the altitude rewards team -every time i have called them, they have said to wait until next month…and then the next month i still don't get the points!

                • @meowmeowmeow: Ok thanks, I also have to do the same thing looks like. Westpac seems to be really bad compared to all the other banks :(

                  • @duna0104: Yep. There's been all sorts of issues. Not sure why it's so hard. Hopefully they fix it now that i have complained.

                    • @meowmeowmeow: I am still waiting for my points and it's been my 5th statement. But I have some good news which I got today. They took multiple attempts to confirm in-house (with their Customer Experience team) that I indeed only have 1 card open and that their system shows 2 other cards open, which is why its hindering the computer's automated processing of bonus points. They appeared to have manually granted the bonus 75k points and will be coming thru in the next 48 hours, which will then be processed into my QFF account on my next statement (7th of each month). They have no explanation for why the closed cards are still showing as open. Major bug.

In addition, there was also a hiccup where one of the non-Rewards team consultants deemed one of my spending (payment of rego) not to be an eligible transaction as it is considered 'government'. That is a total lie, and it was evidenced by the fact that I received 1700 points in my first statement, proving I have indeed spent more than $3k in ELIGIBLE SPENDING. I then spoke with a Rewards consultant that confirmed indeed that I have satisfied the minimum spending requirement. Moral of story: talk to a Rewards team, not their customer consulting team.

Took a very long time, but kept on following up (once every week or fortnight for 3 months, since my 3rd statement), as I knew I was more than qualified to receive the bonus points and have met their criteria. It worked out in the end. Hope it now all comes thru and I will update again when it does.

                      • @iversonjack: Wow what a mess. Thanks for the update, and I'm glad you got your points!!
I do have another card open, but it's an Earth card which was not listed in the t&cs as something that would make me ineligible for bonus points.
My husband had an Earth card too, he cancelled it when he got his altitude card, but he got the 75K points already. Seems very inconsistent.
I'm hoping my complaint makes it into the right hands…my statement is the 9th of each month and i'm sick of getting my hopes up each time it rolls around…

                        • @meowmeowmeow: Update: got a response from westpac today saying they have decided to grant my 75k points and they'll come through with my next statement.

Anyone in the same boat, just go straight to the complaint form on the westpac website and explain why you think you qualify for the points, it was all sorted in a week.

                          • @meowmeowmeow: Update: Finally got my statement and finally got my 75k points in my QFF account! Time to close card!

                            • @iversonjack: I got my statement and points on Monday too. Finally! Closed the card yesterday!

  • Anyone received their points yet?

  • I got ripped off on points only getting the 60,000 not 75000 is there anythibg i can do?

  • Just wondering if council rate and Vicroad car registration fee count as eligible purchases?

    • +1

Answered my own question, just get the 75000pts at third statement.
So Council rate and Vicroad car registration fee are eligible purchases.

  • I have a few questions regarding Amex card:
Are amex points visible via amex app/site or Westpac?
Are they ascend, gateway or something else?
If i already have Amex (explorer and plat edge) and get Amex through this offer, can i then close my explorer and plat edge without losing my ascend points?

    • +2

they are qantas points, you will see them on amex app/site and they will get automatically transferred to your qantas account few days before statement.
if you cancel your other card make sure points have been transferred before hans

      • Does it mean that westpac amex points are locked into westpac/qantas rewards points instead of amex rewards? Kind of defeats the purpose of having their amex then. Because flexible points system is what makes most point chasers use amex cards.

        • +1

it's a qantas deal so it's all to qantas. you still get the benefit of shop small with Amex, and it's free 120k points (after spending the mininum) not a bad deal

  • Could anyone please share the screenshot of this offer page? I met minimum spend and no sign of bonus points even after 3rd statement post minimum spend.

    • I spoke to reward consultant today, before asking any other details he only confirmed that there are 75000 qantas points waiting to be transferred and it will be done on 12th Dec. All good now :)

      • was that with westpac or qantas ? I rang westpac after there was no sign of my points on the 3rd statement and they said it'd show up on the next one. Still no sign on the 4th statement so I rang back a few weeks later again and got some cranky old bat who told me it wasn't their problem and to ring Qantas.

I spoke to Westpac reward consultant. Qantas will have no idea even if you call them, it need to be dealt with Westpac only. You can ask them to transfer to reward consultant and they will be able to assist.

@duna0104: Thanks. The bastards got me on fine print, apparently bpayed bills aren't eligible! I spent 5k in the first month and then a grand in the following months (spreading my spending across the amex) but it fell just short of the 3k and of course they didn't mention that the first few times I called within the 90 day period. Damn.

            • +2

@Hyena: Are there any cards that generate points with Bpay? I think all of them only do it if going through the amex/visa/mastercard systems.
