Not really.
Headspace interface is slick and it has short introduction animations. I like the guys voice (british) and the topics are well done.
Its the best known mediation app and has celebrity endorsements etc.
But its overpriced, especially considering its 95% just audio tracks of one guy talking. Plus it drip feeds you each level , meaning that if you start another account (say to get a 40% discount) you have to start from scratch again.
Smiling Mind is much less slick but has excellent content. Its also the least Buddhist/hippy of them, its purely science based mindfulness training. (not that the other two are overly hippy either)
Aware is also great , its nearly as slick as Headspace, it took a while to get used to the guys voice though, he's very well spoken but has an Indian accent that initially made me feel like I was stuck in an Ashram.
Thanks! I've got through the first 15 or so days of the Aware beginners course, so I know what you mean about the accent :)
Smiling Mind has an Australian accent, which I also found off putting initially because I kept focusing on his Aussie inflections.
