  • So… what’s the usual price for this?
Edit: since it’s not listed, been on OzB last year at $74.90, had been $59 before and RRP is around $99, though selling for $143 as well at smaller retailers.

    Paid $79 a year ago ,
This seems like a good deal.

The same set with a hard case is available here for ~$10 more delivered.

$84.90 is the regular/recent price for the set in the OP, if anyone's interested.

Sidchrome used to make a great spanner, but unfortunately not any more.
Their slogan used to be "You canna hand a man a granda spanner", now it should be "You canna hand a man a crappa spanner".
If you want good quality Sidchrome spanners that will last a lifetime, look on Ebay, Gumtree, secondhand shops etc. for the older Aussie made ones.
If you just want spanners for light DIY use, these might get you by. But if you can get a full set of S/H Aussie made spanners for the same price or a bit more, i'd go that way any day of the week.(i've been swinging spanners for over 40 years)

  • ALternatives if you want to switch brands and or go with a much bigger set.

I have three toolpro sets, and the quaility is there. I got a couple of the 14 piece for $10 each recently. and that 25 piece for $40. One for each car and the big one for the toolbox.

Their ratcheting ones aren't so good.

    • I've found that my Toolpro spanners are looser on nuts than my SP and Sidchrome ones. I haven't measured them to see how much larger they are. They are also shorter in length (less leverage) and fairly heavy/ thick. But the Toolpro warranty is mint.
