Getting a Green Slip in NSW (CTP)

Have been getting my green slip from GIO for a number of years, paying around $750 each year. Did the calculator as usual and they are normally all the same prices +- $10 but this year QBE is offering it for $537. Wondering why they are offering it $200 cheaper when the 5 others are all at $750?

QBE is almost always the cheapest in my experience. Then Allianz.

Did you go to the official comparison website?

Different CTP companies look at different criteria to determine risk.

  • Just wondering what is the process of changing green slip providers

    • Buy the new one and cancel the old one.

      • Not sure how that works while the rego is still current. If you cancel the current one it may cancel the rego.

On rego renewal, just buy a new one from which ever provider you choose.

        • Oh yeah, my bad. Was thinking it would just be the same as comprehensive…

When your rego is due take out the new policy and disregard the renewal notice from the other insurer.

      • Oh right thanks

    • Current one just sends me a letter to renew it, you can just ignore that one and sign up to a new provider. Only takes a few minutes to enter all the details and get a new provider

      • Oh right thanks
