    I'm looking for a dual SIM phone with an unlockable bootloader. Thinking of either getting the Moto Z now or waiting for the G6 Plus to be ~$400 again. Ideally, I'd like to install LineageOS on it in a year or two or three.

    Also considering OnePlus 5T/6 and Asus Zenfone 5/5Z. Any advice or alternatives? Thanks.

      I just got a grey import Moto Z2 Play for $305 which shipped with an unlocked bootloader. Really happy with the phone, but need to lock the bootloader anyway for Google Pay. There's stuff-all development for it and it's not yet Project Treble confirmed. Didn't really like the look of the G6/Plus, wanted to try an AMOLED screen, and the snap-on Moto Mods for the Z range have positive reviews.
      OnePlus models looked good and review well but are a lot more expensive. Don't know much about the Zenfones.

        Magisk allows you to use Google Pay, amongst other things, even with an unlocked bootloader or a rooted device.

    nice to see some sub $400 phones with band 28, nfc, etc instead of the Xiaomis.

    Now to hope for some Nokia 7 plus deals.

    I've had a Motorola Z play for over a year now and I still get 2 days minimum battery life and the phone hasn't "slowed" with any software update. I'd recommend this phone to anyone! Also it's 1/3 of the cost of an iPhone!
