  • Shouldnt this say "up to" $1000? The small print indicates you will only get $20 every electricity bill and can vary from 18 to 60 times over the period.

    • The $1000 is in ADDITION to the EXTRA $20 per demand response event

      • Ah yep fair enough.

  • So, you must have Solar installed along with Redback Smart Hybrid solar inverter (which itself is around $4k) plus the panels.

  • I’m confused. I have solar but not a battery. Do I need to add a battery and buy this inverter?

  • +1

So along with the $20, what rates do you pay for the power fed into the grid?

    I bet it's the min ~8-10c/kw
In these events the wholesale price which can be 6-8c/kw increases dramatically.
e.g. on 18 Jan this year, in Vic, the wholesale from jumped from an average max of 8.4c/kw the previous week to $1.40/kw this is when these guys tap into your powerbank & start draining it. Paying bugger-all and reaping nice profits for doing basically nothing (you buy & maintain the battery, you pay quite hansomely for the poles & wires already in your supply/connection charge).

    https://www.aemo.com.au/Electricity/National-Electricity-Mar…

The idea is nice, But they should be profit sharing, paying you a daily supply charge and doing a straight kw-for-kw power swap on your solar (i.e. for every kw you feedin, you get a kw credit. then any excess they pay you 8c/kw or whatever crap rate).

  • Still very vague to me. I have existing solar with non-redback inverter. What do I pay and what gets installed?
