Plug in your address and look at the plans. I will only go with flat rate for power and for me they're 6c more per kwh and 6c more on daily charge. Works out to an extra $12/mo based on my current usage. Points will be allocated up to 45 days after service begins. I think it might be worth it but just have to get over the inertia.
How are you getting flat rate offers? Do you not have a smart meter?
I don't see what a smart meter has to do with the plan. I have been on flat rate plans for several years. and even now when I plug in my address with AGL, I am offered a flat rate plan as an option.

I like them until they stuffed up my bill. It has been weeks and it had not be resolved. Needs to ping them every now and then…
I hope you brought up the ombudsman with them. There is a special department that handles anything with EWOV complaints.
