Tony and Chelsea Northrup are celebrating one million YouTube subscribers by providing their photography ebook (normally US$10) for free. I've bought the book and buying guide a couple of years ago and it was a brilliant resource while I was learning photography.

There is a competition associated with the promotion but it is not necessary to obtain the eBook. Simply scroll down on the page and select your preferred ebook format.

    PDF is 14.6MB
    Mobi is 22.6MB
    Epub is 10.2MB

    Due to compression etc which version is the best for viewing its either between pdf and mobi I am guessing

      It's not just compression, it also has a lot to do with the codes they use to represent data in the format.

          seriously if you buy some expensive ebooks from amazon and other places in some cases the author will give you a much higher quality pdf edition compared to what you paid for

          pdf = most widely used format.
          epub - most compatible format in the ebook world.

      How often have they forced themselves on to you? Do others do this to you? Are you OK? I can understand that being forced to seek out and than forced to watch content must be one of the most horrible of things.
