Wouldn't be surprised. Had a different model several years ago and it rusted out within 4 years.
Lucky for us they covered it under the 'factory extended warranty'. We opted for the pro-rata cash payment rather than a replacement from them after the service and attitude from Whirlpool.
Went and bought a Bosch.
Hehehe, reminds me of my Mum's reaction to a Fisher Paykel repairman who asked her straight-faced whilst replacing a door seal under warranty "did you get this wet by any chance?"
