eBay Advises That a Third Party Accessed eBay Seller Account and to Contact Payment Service to Request A Refund

Basically, saw Lenovo 920 at $219 free shipping, highest specs you can have on the Lenovo 920, 1TB, i7 8550U, 4k touchscreen etc.

Purchased two laptops and money was taken out of bank, then like 2 hours later eBay emailed this.

Will I be about to get my money back?

… I came onto the website to get help

You paid $219 for a laptop that has a retail price for about $2,000… the help you need may even be beyond this website if you couldn’t see that was a scam.

If you had have read this site, you would have known it was a scam. Basically negating the need to post this as a question….

Can’t wait for your next post…

Contact Payment Service to Request A Refund

  • +15

eBay advised you to contact the payment service……..better jump on Ozbargain and find out what to do.

  • I had a guy yesterday call me with the same email. Looks legit and when we went into his PP account the payment was in 'pending' so I suspect it will drop off by itself.

  • You say the " money was taken out of bank,"?

If it was actually taken from your bank account vis-a-vis any other payment form then I am assuming you used PayPal. In which case PayPal will treat the payment as an e-cheque and not release payment to the seller for 3-5 days - plenty of time to challenge the transaction.

    • Okay thank you

    A $2,000+ laptop for $200… And you got two….

Got the same notification when a Samsung S8 phone that was listed cheaply that turned out to be a false listing via a hacked Seller account. Refund was made by Paypal fairly swiftly.
