    Watch shaped object?

    I'd that it's official name?

    • +5

      Just like the supermarkets sell "bicycle shaped objects". I view this more as a lottery where you may get a cheap battery and strap, and if the watch works, bonus…
      I'm trying not to offend the sensibilities of people who collect actual watches…

  • Zapals account required.

  • So it will not move at all?

    • +1

      It should.

      • +4

        When you move

        • +4

          It also goes forward through time at a rate of 1s per second.

        • +3

          @3: …roughly

        • @3: Good points tho - title edited.

        • @b-radicool: Probably off the same line as the [Persons Name] type ones…

        • Technically, it's moving around the sun. Technically, our solar system is moving around the galaxy. Technically, technically.

    • +1

      This thing will move like the clappers!

      I can guarantee it move through spacetime at the speed of light.

  • +2

    Anyone want the watch? I just need the band!

  • How to get $1.5. I have $1.65

    Vive la France

  • What an absolutely marvelous opportunity to acquire affordable elegant timepieces! I wonder which country they are made in?

    • +4

      Ask Daniel Wellington.

      • +2

        I suppose I could hazard a guess.

  • +1

    Even if it doesn't move, it will tell the correct time twice a day!!

  • +1

    Can 99.99% confirmed it won't work. Purcahsed number of them and non of them work! Just want the watch band!

    • +1

      This comment should be pinned to the top so the mods can edit the post to originally titled "Watch-Shaped Object".

  • For such a cheap watch, it might be laud and inaccurate. Doesn't worth the money.

  • +1

    Oh dear, it's probably best to spend a bit more & get a Skmei.

    If you want to learn more about China cheapos this thread on Watchuseek has lots of good info -
    Best of Aliexpress

    This is a basic Chinese quartz fashion watch, for a lot more money you can buy something from an actual watch making company that's waterproof, like Seiko (Orient) Citizen, Casio or Timex.

    Obviously the band won't be real leather because it's a NATO strap.

    If you really want a Chinese Chronograph watch, which this isn't, then jump on Aliexpress, read the reviews & do a search like this one.

    I would rather put $2.65 towards a watch from a reputable watch making brand like Seiko (Orient) Citizen, Casio or Timex. In case you missed that, i said like Seiko (Orient) Citizen, Casio or Timex.

    You should only be spending around $10.00 or less for something like this, which is what it is.

    • Which reputable watch brands would you recommend we spend this $2.65 on?

      • Seiko (Orient) Citizen, Casio or Timex.

        • But this one must be good. The dial says PLATINUM.

        • Yeah you won't get any of those brands for any where near $2.65. Nor would you get a genuine Geneva watch for any where near that price either.

          This one here is counterfeit.

          @hollykryten: " rather put $2.65 towards "

          For those for Language isn't their first language. Anyone considering this a Swizz watch should be pulled up quickly by their support worker. Fwiw, the moderators changed the title from " Watch-shaped object".

        • my orient cost $160 ….please don't cheapen the brand with unsubstantiated claims …. or make me feel I paid too much.

        • @hollykryten: Isn't this a genuine Geneva watch? I think Member AngryChicken likes those painted subdials.

        • @PJC:

          No way!.

        • @garage sale: But does the dial say PLATINUM like this one?

        • +1

          Sorry, fell asleep, but not totally as i could hear myself snore.

          Then i got a blue screen.

          Then i went to sleep again.

          @hollykryten:

          Yeah you won't get any of those brands for any where near $2.65.

          I said towards a Seiko (Orient) Citizen, Casio or Timex.

          I don't have a support worker, but i do have a parole officer, and she's cute and says she's not sure about the watch.

          @garage sale:

          my orient cost $160 ….please don't cheapen the brand with unsubstantiated claims ….

          Learn to pick-pocket then and stop punking @terrys posts, but do it properly or you might inherit my parole officer.

          Decorative subdials are against God and man.

          zzzzz…

    Counterfeit Geneva watch. So it's likely illegal to ship through the post.

    This is dodgy all over it. Good one. Selling counterfeit watches to Aussies. Sorry i have to neg vote this for the fact it's obviously a counterfeit.

    • Oh dear. So this too isn't a genuine Geneva watch?

      • Oh gee. No it's not. Totally counterfeit.

        • Would you please provide a link to an authentic Geneva watch? Thank you so much.

        • @PJC:

          This a genuine one. They are not worth very much though. I think the genuine one's have Platinum right under the Geneva brand name. And it has a Japanese movement.

        • +4

          @hollykryten:

          So you've negged because a $3.00 China cheapo with the word Geneva on the dial isn't made in Geneva, then you've linked to another Chinese made Geneva watch with a Japanese movement that's overpriced on Amazon and claimed it's genuine.
          Do you not see the irony?

          Also fake items are not allowed to be posted on Ozbargain, so you should report it & let the mods deal with it, not neg.

        • @WatchNerd: I honestly believed he was joking. The Swiss call that locality Genève, not Geneva.

        • +2

          @hollykryten:

          I like the fake one better, so i think i'll get that.

    • +1

      Didn't sleep too well - that's what happens when you get a blue screen during the day.

      This is a joke post.
      No one here thought for a moment that this was in any way a high-end watch.

      You see it's been a while since anyone has posted an exceptionally crappy and overpriced quartz fashion watch, and given that circumstance member @terrys has chosen to provide a service by posting something i can outrage right at.

      I am outraged.

  • Geneva is just a name, makes no claims as to Geneva Switzerland ….

    like holeproof undies …. they do get hold, its just a brand name.

    Forget this and get a SKMEI

    • On the minus side, my SKMEI 9083 came with a flat battery.
      On the plus side, my cheap and nasty "Fu Tian No 2093 case opener for waterproof watches" won't shift the back on the Skmei.

  • Its never delivered. I ordered before :(

    • Everything I have ordered from Zapals has arrived. Maybe keep an eye on your mailbox.
