The product description mentions Googlecast, which is the correct name for the service used by Chromecast devices.
The chatter I've seen around so far is that this has cloned 1080p keys, and the plan is to have 4k within 3 months (when the cloned keys expire).
I'd hold off if you're planning on getting Netflix 4k out of the box.

It's also worth mentioning that this is a rebadged existing product updated to Oreo, and as such will likely run into the same problems that many other devices have with Oreo updates.
Notably on ATV devices, this has presented with wi-fi and bluetooth issues. Mecool have been excellent with software updates in the past, but this is their first certified device, and thus all the extra hoop jumping that comes with that to release updates.
No Bluetooth mentioned, and lacks 5GHz wifi.

I think that might be a mistake on the part of the seller, so send an enquiry to confirm.
A lot of Media player of late have a BT Dongle included with remote.

I've got a Mecool M8s Pro L and it freezes quite a bit during playback in Kodi. Had a read around and apparently its fairly common due to bad eMMC chips. Hope this one doesn't have that problem.
Are you sure your not confusing the m8s pro plus with the m8s pro L? There was a bad batch of m8s pro plus units that had a faulty eMMC, which would cause freezing but only if you updated from the original firmware. Some people had success recovering them by flashing the exact firmware the unit originally came with. The general consensus was that the eMMC would not erase properly so flashing the firmware would result is a corrupt image.
Yeah mine says M8S Pro L. I haven't touched the firmware, its on ATV 7.1.1 I was wondering if it was Kodi doing it, but it freezes solid; can't get back to android home screen, power button does nothing.

Also, anyone know how these compare to the Xiaomi Mi Box? I have one and it's good for Kodi, albeit quite slow, esp to scan over WiFi.
That's a larger HDD, not more RAM. The ethernet port, aerial, SD card slot and extra USB 2.0 port are welcome.
