      No direct idea - but I have the m50x headphones and I'm pleased with that purchase.

      Reviews suggest that these are good for more base-heavy sound cf. the m50x headphones.

      Negatives? Not as portable (can't collapse like the m50x), fixed cable (flat-style) versus 2 alternative proprietary cables that come with the m50x.

      Looks like they're closed back headphones so they should isolate audio pretty well regardless. If you want something for airplanes, I would go with the specialty headphones like you suggested.
