Nappy Bag for Fashion-conscious Pregnant Lady

so obviously not for me :D

Mate's missus is pregnant and says she doesn't want anything or want anyone to fuss over her when she clearly wants the opposite.*sigh🙄

Anyhoo, she wants a nappy bag and she wants stylish. Our budget is $150.Any suggestions pls?

Thanks,

A nappy bag can be such a personal choice so it's hard to buy one for someone else, but here's a bit of reading to help.

Does she love the 'it' brands? (Apple, Dyson etc) If so, she'll love the mimco nappy bag.

The mimco ones are pricey unless you find a sale, but oioi make one very similar (without the brand name though)

Is she environmentally conscious and loves good style too? Lassig bags are great (my personal favourite) https://www.babybunting.com.au/lassig-green-label-neckline-n…

Storksak make great bags and their sister company babymel. https://www.storksak.com.au

And Il Tutto have beautiful bags but they can get expensive https://www.iltutto.com.au/il-tutto-layla-tote-nappy-bag-in-…

If she loves being a bit different, petunia picklebottom always has very different designs. https://www.petunia.com/diaper-bags/city-carryall-color-bloc…

The latest craze in nappy bags at the moment is backpacks. Here's a few to browse… https://mumsgrapevine.com.au/2016/10/9-nappy-backpacks-mums-…

    • Thanks Lauren. That was very helpful :) what are your thoughts vanchi nappy bags?

Don't you already have a Vanchi? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382427 "Our designer nappy bags look just as stylish on the catwalk as they do at the playgroup"

        • I don't like it. It's basically a bagpack that costs twice as much because it's been branded as a "nappy bag".

But mate said she might like that brand so…

        • @Jar Jar binks: *backpack, not bagpack

Ooh I can't believe I left them off the list. Vanci are beautiful - I haven't owned one but a friend has and they're so soft. They were all the rage in my mothers group.

        • As an ozbargainer, how much would you feel comfortable spending on a nappy bag? I just had a look at vanchi's website and there's nothing that I can get for $150(including shipping).

        • @Batboy: you must have me confused for a true Oz bargainer.

I use Oz bargain to save money on boring things so I don't feel so guilty splashing out on silly things like nappy bags.

        • @Laurenlauren: 😂

        • @Laurenlauren: Do you follow @vanchinappybags on IG, looks like they often have giveaways…

Oh sh*t. I wondered where Jar-Jar Binks went. Didn't realise you changed your username.

    • Had another baby: the cutest curly-haired, blue-eyed, dimpled, with the slightest hint of a gap-toothed, 17-months old little monster who's been wrecking havoc in our house and our heart. Been keeping me busy. Haven't really had time for ozbargain. What did I miss?

        Broden is back…

        • Nooooooooooo! Oh well.

Doesn’t matter what you get her, it won’t be good enough. It will be all smiles and “oh, gee, thanks! You didn’t have too…” as it gets relegated to the back of the wardrobe… don’t indulge her fetish and reinforce her self importance… Just get her what ever you feel will do the more useful job at the cheapest price.

    • whatever (…) will do the more useful job at the cheapest price.

and this is exactly why I've come ozbargain for advice. What is the cheapest nappy bag I can get that doesn't look cheap and nasty?

Don’t know. My wife wasn’t pretentious enough to get into the whole “mummy circle jerk”.

We used to just load all the baby poop catchers into a waterproof/thermal shopping type bag. It was more about being functional than it was about impressing anyone.

It has since been repurposed as the swimming lessons bag. It has “Monsters Inc” on it. The kids love it. Don’t care what the other mummies think.

We use this for our baby supplies. Not marketed as a nappy bag but I see fashionable young types sporting these so it seems popular from a fashion perspective, and it works well for us. Japanese brand called Anello

Ju-Ju-Be 'Be Classy' are good if want something like handbag? Seems harder to get them into country now since this UK site can't send them here anymore. This Aussie site doesn't have as good range and prices seem higher.

My wife is the same (would happily blow money on exy brand name items if she could) but money's a bit tight right now…she researched and found this one to her liking. She's pretty happy with it…my tightassness slowly rubbing off on her

We have this one also, looks almost the same as the $200 ones you see in David Jones. Clips onto our pram easily…basically use it as a pram caddy, not a nappy bag.

Thanks mate. This is a present to a mate and his missus though and a $20 bag from kmart might be perceived as an insult. I don't particularly care for the missus but he's a good mate and a top bloke. I don't want to make things awkward for him.

"I don't particularly care for the missus but he's a good mate and a top bloke."

So give your mate the $150, if he wants to add a few hundred to get his missus some designer bag that impresses the in crowd at Coffee club or wherever Mums meet. Then again he may put it to good use in items for the man cave that benefit you also

If I had a baby I'd be getting one of these beauties I have saved https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/501804374/diaper-bag-backpac…
It's out of your price range though, and honestly, if you don't like her it's not worth trying to please her, let her friends gift her baby stuff.
