    $60 rather than $120

$60 for cucumber sandwiches… No thanks.

  • Thanks OP.

  • An hour sitting? I hope they bring it out quickly.

    • An hour sitting?

$1 per minute to eat finger food…

(free at the local pub on friday…)

There will usually be a serving tower with most of the food already on your table or brought out immediately after you arrive.

$120 is about double the going rate, so the discount price of $60 is still pretty much full price elsewhere. E.g. the QVB high tea regular price is $55 including sparkling wine.

So this is supposed to have extras… but that seems to be shopping (pay to see shop stalls, I think not!), a mini makeup session (given this seems to be open to all visitors throughout the day as a separate area, I imagine the queues will be massive for some small service - so not worth it), and watching a fashion show (? - not something worth an extra charge).

    In short, overpriced.

    • I've been and can vouch that. If it's for the extras go to any shopping festival day.

I am not going to justify posting this. People can make up their own minds.

    • Well that wasn't very helpful. SEE WHAT I DID THERE?

    • I did, everybody did, we hate it

    • Hear, Hear!

  • Melbournes is next year and there's like 10 seats sold to each sitting

A 2 hour High Tea at The Conservatory in Melbourne is $75 or $89 at the Windsor so this does seem a little steep

This post is Misleading. Usual price is NOT $120:
The official website of Sofitel Melbourne on Collins states that the Usual High Tea prices are:

    Weekday High Tea:
    – Price: $49 pp or $98 for two

Saturday – Sunday Traditional High Tea:
    – Price: $80 pp or $160 for two

  • This is not excessive for a high tea with alcohol, but it's not particularly cheap either.

What is Click Frenzy anymore, even? Yet another meaningless marketing scheme…

Not bagging the deal… just commenting on the pointless crap that Australian retail gets up to, to pretend that they're digitally savvy, or something.

  • How high can they get?

  • Ok so I went to this event twice and HIGHLY DON'T recommend it. It's an afternoon shopping with high tea. So like any sunday market minus the fresh stuff, add more fashion/girl stuff like the craft markets. It's expensive and you're better of going elsewhere.
Venue changes each year, but the first year was meh and second year terrible, there was sushi and the food was food court quality. It's marketed as young and trendy though from the fashion show it's for mothers.
