  • But what specs are you after?

    • Hi mate

      Specs above in description.

      Intel i5+
      16gb ram
      256+ssd
13 inch touch screen HD resolution
      Subject $1400

      • Godric meant that you made a mistake - "following soecs".

    • I dunno about the other guy but I want some secs.

  • You can get a grey import Surface Book for $1350 at DWI during their sales time. Don't get this laptop if you are planning on using RD Application as it scales the DPI to an unreadable state.

    • Do you recommend surface book? What Specs for that kind of price? How would warranty work for grey import on laptops. Moreover dwi good to deal with? Thank you.

Please post it as a bargain, once you find a 13inch laptop with touch screen, Intel i5+, 16gb ram, 256+ssd for $1400 :)

  • I have a laptop with a touch screen, and I really don't use the touch screen. It sounded like a good idea at the time.

    • It's really meant for multiple people maybe using one laptop especially when they are the touchy feely type aka computer illiterate or just straight damn barbarians.

  • Any recommendations?

No you? What have you found so far?

  • Is the size and touchscreen really important or do you just want max gaming power and max ram storage because the gaming laptops are so good right now compared to this imho for value but if you need it specifically for something I understand.

    • Hi AlienC- no bigger than 15 [preferably 13.3-14]. Its not being used for gaming, more for business and school for the kids. 16GB would be preferable given programs and apps run.

      cheers

I know its a bit after the post date but if you go overseas you get the GST back if purchased within 60 days. Just need to know where to go at customs so you don't bypass. Ebay constantly have 20% off some laptops and this can include the Dell store. Dell usually already have a small discount of $100 or so. So I got two XPS 13 laptops with i5, 256 pcie hard drive and 8 gig of ram for $1275.66 each after all that. Dell had it discounted to $1799. Then the 20% is another $359.80 off. And then the GST is another $163.54 off as the GST is rebated on the $1799 price as this is what is shown on the invoice. The 20% is an Ebay rebate and nothing to do with Dells pricing. The XPS 13 touch screen is currently on the Dell Ebay store at $1899. So if they were to have a sale and you were going overseas within the 60 days it would cost you $1346.43. It does only have 8 gig of ram but a QHD screen. Also Dell take the order and they are made in K.L. and then shipped to Sydney. Because they are then dispatched from Sydney with an invoice of $1799 they qualify for the GST rebate but the order does take about 3 weeks so you need to time things. I can recommend Dell as wife and I both got one. The battery life is fantastic and we never have to try to recharge at airports. Going to Bali in October and if a 20% off deal come on them may get the touchscreen model.

    • thanks @lionelw2004 . I currently have a Del XPS and absolutely love it. Its a work computer, so will look at such a deal much more closely now. Thanks for the heads up.
