Recommend Me Wrist Support for Mouse and Keyboard

Looking for some nice wrist support when using a keyboard and mouse.

Seen some nice Mousepad with gel support which one do you use or have found to be the best.

Need one also maybe for keyboard usage.. I guess higher the elevation or support the better.

Asking ozbargain members as I know some might use the pc throughput the day either at work or otherwise so this should be a good place to find some good answers.

I bought a mk881 pantheon keyboard and x4s fantech mouse.. If it helps with the sizing or measuring.. can't believe I got my pc up after so many years now just gotta make it as comfy as ever for prolonged usage.

Alternatively give me any recommendations on any cool items that make your pc experience much better be it a better chair with arm rests or elevated keyboard mice setup or headset holders or etc.

Might need a webcam in future but not yet just wrist and hand supports for now.

Take is a little smaller than I would like but hard to find cheap good quality tables atm in my area or online and it is maybe in the middle of my hierarchy to buy/replace list.

Thanks ozbargain.

  • logitech m570 mouse. cheap and does the job (help to ease our wrists)

  • +1

Here's a trick I learned from physio. Just fold up a small towel. Can adjust thickness with folds. Been doing this for wrist support and works great

Other things that elevate PC experience:
    - VESA mount to adjust monitor height or text books
    - secondary monitor
    - headphones Ath-m50
    - speakers - edifier r1280db or audio engine if you have more $$
    - chair - Herman miller Aeron - second hand price same as a new gaming chair but much more comfortable and lasts longer
    - extra large mouse pad
    - electric sit/stand desk - ikea
    - plants

  • Hey I bought one of those cheapie gel pads for wrist support from china - cost about $4 on ebay. At first they felt a bit too high off the pad, but now I've gotten used to it it feels pretty good. Still get red marks around my wrist but they no longer hurt! Negatives are, the bottom will get dirty in no time (unless you keep the plastic film on which it came with) Don't know about keyboard wrist pads, hopefully someone else has advice in here

  • The arm rest of my chair is the same level as the desk so no need for any wrist support. I bought one of these mousepads for a friend though and it felt very comfortable. GelMousepad

  • Not sure what your exact health issue or complaint is but I’ve had reasonably painful RSI in the past. What worked wonders for me were a vertical mouse (from Evoluent) and a compact keyboard (no keypad). Wrist support gel products didn’t work for me. I now use trackpads and they’re fine too. Try these things in case you’re having pain in your wrists or arms after computer usage.

    • Will look into it.. I do prefer the most ergonomical and reduced wrist strain products.

  • I don't know about wrist rests, I always plant my wrists on the desk. If you hover your wrists, then you'll probably also want elbow rests on your chair, or you'll be doing your shoulders in as well as your wrists.

If you plan on spending long periods in front of your computer; all day, every day like me. Then you'll want a decent chair with a firm adjustable backrest and lumbar support cushion. Neck cushion is nice too. Put the backrest quite upright, just far enough back that you don't feel like you are using your lower back muscles to stop you from falling over. The lumbar cushion and upright backrest can take a week or two to get used to if your posture is already garbage, but once you get into it, you'll have a much better back. I've got an AK Racer Overture chair, but there are plenty of options.

As for desks, I like a fairly high desk top. I'm tall and hate squeezing under the desk. While the return seems like a good idea at the time "Ooh I can put my laptop on there, or turn around and do paperwork on the return", I actually hate the thing now. I keep having to force myself to take my elbow off of the return, because it's throwing my shoulders out of alignment and causing muscle pain. Also its piled up with gadgets and crap I got from China looking at OzB :P I'm in the market for a new desk myself, a nice solid one this time, not this hollow crap you get from Super AMart.

  • Consider a gaming keypad. They are expensive, have fewer keys and you still need a regular keyboard. But if you play any game that requires more than 4-5 left hand buttons, in the long term your wrist and carpal tunnel will thank you :)

or just a super cushy extra large mat pad.. still dont have a mouse pad for my mouse feels so barbaric using a display folder for the time being

I wasnt able t completely plan and anticipate my whole setup but got the hardware stuff all down
