For NBN - TPG vs Aussie Broadband vs Letsbemates vs Exetel

Which one from above would you recommend? I am looking for unlimited NBN 12Mbps or 50Mbps plan with no contract, no modem, and no phone. Looking for cheap and reasonably reliable option. Thanks!

    • Cheapest though? Installation cost? Ongoing cost?

      • Zero installation cost, I'm on the 50 plan which is $64.95. no contract and no disconnection fee if you decide to leave.

        https://mungi.com.au/plans/

        Local support, they've been great.

  • +1

    Aussie Broadband hands down

  • for anyone interested this just came out today:
read the PDF named Measuring Broadband Australia - On 31 July, the ACCC released its second performance report

Lists Aussie Broad Band as # 1

    IINET second
TPG Third, but all of them are very close

  • Aussie Broad Band I've had Optus and an awful experience with buzz telco but have never had a problem with ABB, customer service is great worth the extra tenner.

    • OMG! Yes the Buzz Telco fiasco. Took 9 months to get my refund! Finally.

  • Is it strange that I'm with Amaysim cause they have no setup or disconnect cost, no contract with option to BYO modem(perfect since I BYO my tplink archer d7 for hfc)? Nbn12 $60/m

Their customer service is too good as well…constantly calling me when I raise a speed issue ticket that rectifies itself within half an hour. Their customer service centre also has guides to help you set up your BYO modem. The went through the guide exactly for my archer d7.

I have breakdown spreadsheet of internet providers with no contract that I made for when I moved homes. Feel free to check it out (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NjXJzYdv1MqJ1qY34FKi…)

  • mungi, no complaints, had a few ozbargain deals.

  • for me the extra $10 with Aussie is worth it. if i ever need to call support i guarantee it will be quicker than TPG and that is worth the $10 and not to mention i bet it will be easier due to no language barrier. also i love their waiting tunes (i only had it for like 30 seconds tho)

  • I went from iinet (who was my ADSL provider before NBN) to TeleCube and now to Aussie BB.

Aussie BB has been rock solid, has been nice to have the wife not getting crabby at me for not being able to watch her MasterChef online due to constant buffering.

  • Hey I know everyone loves ABB but considering the regular price for the 50Mpbs service is $20pm more than Exetel, surely it's not really worth that? (I mean, Exetel is alright, yeah?).

  • Slightly unrelated question. I am on FTTN NBN service provided by Dodo. How long does it take to switch from one service provider to another? From my experience, with ADSL, it used to take atleast a week when moving from one service provider to another.

    • Not sure if you've got your answer,

When I moved from Dodo FTTN NBN to Aussie Broadband, it took about 15 minutes to transfer.
Switching ISPs on FTTN takes anywhere between 24-48 hours.

  • Anyone having feedback on latest Exetel performance? Looking to join their non contract plan in the next few weeks on nbn50 500gb data. How's the speed during peak hours?
