Nope, my Magna is airbag free

    • +9

Pretty sure Magnas aren't involved in accidents, they just cause them.

  • +2

Easy and simple. I like it. Just forwarded it to my friends and family. Luckily our cars are not affected.

Thanks TA. Don't drive with your hands flat on the steering wheel, because if you're in an accident and the airbag deploys you might brake your wrist like this person.

    • Love hearing people scream, so invigorating.

      • break
      • No you might slow your wrist down

        Freudian slip?

Already did mine with my 2005 Mazda 6.

Pretty good experience, the dealer dropped me off at the local Westfield and picked me up again.

And they washed my car which was filthy.

    Wish there were more recalls.

    • car which was filthy

      Username checks out.

My Yaris was recalled, they replaced them with a new set of defective airbags and it is due to get the new bags when I'm next back in Australia.

    • +2

      My Yaris was recalled

Makes sense, they should recall all Yaris and crush them.

      • -1

And some people should keep their opinions to themselves, but here we are.

      • +1

The yaris isn't sure if it's left or right hand drive so they put the dashboard in the middle…

        • +1

          Worst dash I've ever seen.

    • +1

This happened with my Corolla; had a recall over the recall šŸ™„

      • +4

Better to have a new defective airbag than an old defective airbag.

        • Too right those alpha airbags had a 50% chance of sending shrapnel through the vehicle if they deployed..

        Hiya Kerfie,

Will be in Sydney next week, wanna go for a drive and test out your new airbags.

  • +3

    Great information for relatives etc.

    • +1

      That depends on which ones.

      • +2

You are far too late. I shall not adopt you.

  • They keep calling me for 3 years, and last week I gave in

  • +1

Was just going to post this, cheers TA

  • Did anyone else's car not come up? Out of curiosity and boredom I entered my RX7 and it said it couldn't find the vehicle in my state.

Just tested my bike too: Vehicle Status: UNKNOWN.

I should call Kawasaki and check…

    • Grey imports won't come up, any recalls will be handled by the compliance shop if the vehicle was imported under the SEVS scheme…

      • Oh yep, I think it came over from Japan, cheers.

  • I already have my passenger side airbags replaced under the recall. However, I'm confused as to why the driver's side doesn't need to be replaced assuming it would've used the same parts?

    • Most vehicles actually have different parts and even different suppliers for the passenger and drivers airbags. Some vehicle even have different suppliers between standard and sports models. Really depends on sourcing. Even Apple uses different suppliers to make and assemble the iPhone.

  • My 2010 Impreza was affected by the recall. Going into the dealer to get it replaced was the worst experience.

Got home and my stereo wasn't working and to this day I have all sorts of new creeks and squeaking from my dash that I didn't experience before.

  • i check mine a long time ago when on govt recall site.

but for sh!ts and giggles I did it again.

    GOT THIS;

Unfortunately we are unable to assess your vehicle status using this web tool

  • I have good bags

  • I've been wondering how to check since last year, now I finally know! (they're good)

  • So what did people think of the 60 Minutes show last night?

    • Watched it. Incredible how they were aware of the potential dangers and did nothing, even after deaths were being reported.

  • For all the OzBargainers with McLarens I have some bad news for you. Those with a Great Wall vehicle look to be fine.
