Last year i went to the Melbourne Underground Film Festival - that's not even a joke

I was down there last year. Travelled from Brisbane. Had a great time.

It was started over pretentious wankery associated with MIFF film submissions apparently.

        Like Fringe.

Miff is a bit of fun. Politically charged ncorrect and left vying it. Gives low budget filmmakers an outlet. Production values and budgets are usually lacking but th3 plots are more interesting than the boring crud screen Australia pumps out that almost always get very low cinema audiences and lse may net and are designed not to upset anybody. Films need conflict.

Heads up too. The Volunteers will likely flood these empty sessions because we (former) get admission to screenings where theres enough seats going.

Wayne Gardner Documentary tomorrow - http://miff.com.au/program/film/wayne

Not my scene, but something local is good for a tenner.

Remember anything funds by abc or sbs will be screened for free on tv fairly soon after the fest.
It’s the odd foreign films that don’t have a long cal distributor that you might not get a chance to see again either on DVD or streaming.
