    Another Chinese rush?

    • +12

      It's not a wanted brand.
The shortage of formula is fake, it is only certain brands limiting their supply to seem exclusive. If the shelves were full the brands would lose their appeal.
Coles, Aldi etc home brands are always full shelves.

To be fair, do you really want to feed your baby formula that even Chinese people won't….?

(mostly joking - and yeah the baby formula shortages and media outrage was ridiculous. People saying "omg I can't find formula for my babyyyy!" make for good TV I guess.)

        • Maybe so, but Chinese people siphon a lot of it to China.

        • +1

@homersimpson: Right, and…? It's called exporting. We do it with wheat, sheep, iron, uranium, and a few other things too.

Usually we're happy when Australian exports go up - ACA and Today Tonight apparently have convinced people it's a bad thing now.

          @HighAndDry:

          Right, and…?

          Nothing. Just pointing out.

        • @HighAndDry:it's because the way that it's being sent to China means that it's not taxed

        • +1

          @chac: What?

They're purchased in Australia, so any GST that needs to be paid is being paid.

They're being exported, and so far as I'm aware, Australia doesn't charge an export customs duty, only on (some) imports.

          What tax?

        • @HighAndDry: I would assume he's talking about import duties in China.

        • +1

@pseudonym303: Yeah… maybe? But why would anyone here care about what taxes the Chinese government are missing out on? This whole thread is confusing the hell outta me.

        • @HighAndDry: income tax maybe?

        • +1

@going nowhere: Again… maybe? But with the media focus on daigou, anyone not reporting it on their taxes is probably going to make the ATO even more money in fines, etc.

And even then, it's not like anyone in Australia is missing out - the sales are overseas to overseas people. They were retail to begin with so if the daigou didn't buy them, no one else would've paid income tax on it either.

    Check expiry date !!!!!!

  • +1

It's not A2 why would they rush?

  • +3

Is this a daigou only deal?

    • +1

even chinese beggers don't feed their kids with this junk. no market no daigou

      • +1

        Beggars can't be choosers.

        • Daigou can't be losers.

  • Does a limit of 1 only apply?

  • 2000% profit for the daigous

    • +1

Er, you can't make more than 100% profit margin. Mathematically impossible.

      • chibot does not mention margin at all so therefore it is possible to have a profit(ROI) of 2000%

      • +1

So if I buy something for $1.00 and sell it for $3.00, what is my profit margin in terms of percentage?

        • +2

Profit margin is how much of your sale price is profit. So selling for $3 on COGS of $1 = $2/$3 is profit. So 67%.

On the other hand, ROI is return on investment, which is basically how much profit you made per $ of cost. So in this case you made $2 profit on $1 cost, so 200% ROI.

  • Does this taste as creamy as breast milk?

    • Pretty sure every week is world breastfeeding week.

  • How much could I on sell this to China for?

    • +3

      1 micro USB cable.

    • They wouldn't want it because it's an unrecognised brand so will be assumed to be plastic and chalk powder.

  • good for adult ?

    • +1

      Breast is best.

  • Thanks OP, that’s breakfast sorted for the next week.

  • What is the country of origin for this product?

    • -1

This is probably a product of China.

      • +2

There is a big logo that says… Australian Made. Whether Australia is a part of China, that's up for debate.

    • +1

      Made in Australia.
