August comes from the Latin word augustus, meaning "consecrated" or "venerable," which in turn is related to the Latin augur, meaning "consecrated by augury or "auspicious." In 8 B.C. the Roman Senate honored Augustus Caesar, the first Roman emperor, by changing the name of their month "Sextilis" to "Augustus.

August is copy and paste month.

August comes from the Latin word augustus

I mean, the word august in its descriptive sense has that etymology. The month of August is just named after Augustus Caesar.

Edit: Oh damnit. Got totally whooshed.

  • what are you complaining about,I am a disability pensioner and live in Canberra,we get the offers the following day (24 hrs) that they are listed,we come to rely on food offers and when we apply to the offers we receive:"sorry that offer expired 24 hours ago"

    • Check the website more often and don't rely on the newsletter?

    • From our FAQ:

I keep seeing expired deals in my newsletter. How can I change this?

Go to: My Account - Subscriptions - Newsletter

Check the box: Exclude expired deals

But yes, there are many deals that last a day or even hours so the best way to keep up would be to check the site, subscribe to the RSS feed, follow on Twitter or Facebook(FB can be delayed by many hours though).
