Great shoes, have had a pair of these for ~7 years and they're still in one piece.

    • +2

      one piece

Do you jump to get around when you wear them?

    • +1

      seriously?
I've had a pair of canvas high tops for a year and a bit now, and even without full-time wear, the rubber strip around the outside has cracked on both sides where my the ball of my foot bends the shoe. I'm pretty disappointed actually.

      • Well, I can't comment on the quality of modern high-tops chucks, but it could also be your walking style.

      • Sound like yours might be lemons… I've worn the same pair of canvas high tops at uni nearly every day for a year and they're still in great nick. Are they the All Stars 2.0? I've had a poor experience with their quality in the past…

        • Mine are the "CTAS Pro" versions.
This is what I'm talking about.
Maybe I bend my feet too much????

          @damion:
That's a pretty small crack man.

          They're not dress shoes.

    • +6

They usually come in pairs. Did you get ripped off?

      • -1

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

    • I'd say you still got another 13 years

  • Are there any low profile versions available?

  • Sweet! My old vinyl ones fell apart after 5 or so years… been wanting a pair of these! Buying in AUD seems much better than pounds on this one..?

  • Thanks OP. Son now has School Shoes that will be no whinging about.

  • Does anyone know the sizing? Is it fairly standard?

    • +1

UK sizing and Euro sizing - I went with 10/45 which is about 12US/11AU from memory

      • I thought UK size and AU size are more or less the same.

        • I don't think the sizing on the site is 100% accurate - I'm an 11AU/12US, or a 46, but the site says a 46 is an 11.5.

Either that, or I've been living a lie.

        • +1

@igunth27: Yep their sizing is off, my Converse are 12MENS/12UK/46.5EU but this site has 11/46.5 or 12/47.5, so who knows!

      • Normally UK sizing is half to one size number down from US and very similar to AU sizing. 45 is closer to 11US, not 12, which is 46, but that could be all moot if Converse use different equivalents. They have a size guide on the site.

    • Usually converse sizing is…

UK/AU is equal to US so go off your UK sizing.

For example, I am a US11/UK10/45(44 depending on brand)
I would need a US10 because that is equal to UK.

      Hope that helps!

The sizing is about 1/2 size larger than most shoe brands. I am a 9.5 and 9 fits well, if you are a half size definitely go down. On the other hand if your foot is very wide give these shoes a miss they are somewhat narrow/regular width.

  • Bought, nice price, thanks.

  • +1

the sizes look off to anyone else? typically size 9 is 42 2/3 but it says 8 is 42.5

    edit

nvm i just realised its UK to EU

    bought thx

  • Are these the old or new versions?

    • I think you're asking if they are the All Star 2.0? Nope, they're the originals :)

      • new versions the one with the nike sole? so much more comfortable than the flat footer chucks.

        • Those are the 2.0's, yeah. Definitely more comfortable, but I had 2 pairs where the sole completely detached from the shoe within a month. If only you could buy the soles separately…

  • done deal! cheers

  • Looks like they only stock white version with sizes from 11 upwards dang

  • Last time I ordered from Sports Direct I got a full refund after about a month with no emails as to why until I contacted them about it.

Has turned me off from using their site tbh

I have tried several times now before hitting the "Pay No" where do you put in the FW20 coupon code?

    • I'd like to know as well.

      Note: Found it.

Don't be seen dead in those high tops

  • Bought. Thanks OP.

  • Missed my size

  • +1

These look to be series 1 styles without the new nike lunarlon sole (which are super comfy) just as a heads up.

  • Lol, don't even go to size 13 :(.

    • or 14 =\

  • OMG amazing! These are pretty much the only shoes I wear. Hard to find on special below $120, occasionally I've found them for $90. So I bought two pairs.

They're not very comfortable as they are, so I wear them with inserts from Foot Locker.

  • Makes no sense.

I have a pair of these exact shoes sitting in front of me and they are:

    M10/UK10/44

So which size do I order? The 9s or the 10s…?

    • It's UK sizing so my guess would be to get size 10.

  • Dear my beloved Ozbargain gang,
I have a size 43 Aquila pair, and it fits me perfectly, based on this conversion chart from this site https://www.aquila.com.au/static/international-size-guide.ht…. The equivalence of size 43 Aquila (Euro) is size 9 in UK, thus I was thinking of buying size 9. However, when I click on this link https://au.sportsdirect.com/converse-all-star-chuck-taylor-m… to order, next to number 9 there is a number 44 in bracket 9(44). Based on the international conversion chart, shouldn't 9 UK = 43 Euro, it should have been 9 (43), or did I misunderstand the 44 number ? does it mean 9 UK = 44 Euro ? I am confused, if I wear a size 43 Aquila, what size should I order from UK ?

    • Click the 'size chart' on the official converse page: https://www.converse.com.au/chuck-taylor-all-star-leather-bl…

      • Actually, that doesn't really help, does it…
I think the sportsdirect website is just wrong.
I've sent them an email, hopefully they reply before they're out of stock.

        • Thanks Damion,
Based on the link you provided, my size is between 9 and 10 thus I should get a size 10 pair, but based on the Aquila link I should get a size 9 pair =-= so confusing, what do you think size 43 Aquila is equivalent to ? My wild guess is 9, thanks for sending them the email, I wonder how other people are going with figuring out their shoes sizes

  • I've read every comment size in here and still confused AF hahaha.

I ended up ordering a 9 (44) I have a pair of black and white classic chucks on atm that at uk 9 (42.5)
They are out of 8.5's and 9.5s so I wasnt left with alot of choice.

Did I go for the right size regardless? I was scared to order the 8 (42.5) that matched the pair I have for EUR sizing, better to go with bigger and be safe right?

  • Hello, I am a size 10 in converse, is there sizing in UK or US? I am usually a size 11 US but Converse fit bigger

  • Hmmm I have a pair of these exact shoes right now in Size MENS 10 WOMENS 12 UK 10 EUR 44 CM 28.5, but I'm confused like others. Do I go with 10 on their site, which says its 45, or 44 on their site which says is 9?

I think I'm leaning to 44 size 9 as the 44 is something that can not be contended, whereas the size 10 can be, it could be US sizing or UK sizing

    • I assumed the other way around.
I was thinking their euro sizing was the automatic conversion done by sportsdirect, and the UK sizing would be correct.

  • Email reply from Their customer service:

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that all the sizing on the website is done in UK sizing, the Euro sizing is only there as an advisory.

    Kind regards,

    Branagh
