Renewing annual Kogan plan

Nearly a year ago Kogan had a special deal on plans, and I think lots of Ozbargainers signed up then. With that deal expiring next month (my Small plan cost ~$130), I looked for good deals on their website. Now new customers are being offered the plan for about ~$150, while for me to sign on again will be about $170.

Has anyone discovered a better deal, or a way to get the price down?

My year is up at the end of this month. This morning I received a 'Ready to Recharge?' email with 30%-off Medium ($205.60), 35%-off Large ($254.30), 40%-off Extra Large ($315.10) 365-day recharge vouchers.

Valid for existing Kogan Mobile customers. Personal use only. Discounts available on Kogan Mobile Prepaid MEDIUM, LARGE and EXTRA LARGE 365 day plans, including recharges, purchased before 11:59pm AEDT 31/01/2019 unless sold out prior or extended.

    • Thanks, maybe I should wait and see if I get an offer too.

      • I had 2 services on the one month trial last month, and only one of the two got offered the discounts to renew. I'm not sure if it's because both were registered to me or what, but yeah, I did get offered the discounts

    • When I click on those links, it shows the discounted price. Is that for existing customers or new?

      • If you are a new customer, take advantage of the $4.90 23GB 30-day voucher deal, then at the end of that recharge with your preferred 365-day voucher. 13 months of mobile sorted.

I think this is as close as it gets for now
You can wait and hope something comes up soon (with any provider) but that's really your only option

    • The $152.10 3GB Small voucher in that deal states it is for new customers only, so it might involve a port-out port-in.

  • I to purchased 3 Kogan 12 month plans at 50% discount this time last year, they run out on 8/8 so I've done some home work and found what I think should suit me, TPG has a pre paid deal of 15gb plus unlimited talk etc for $20 for the first 6 months. Done. I got my daughter a vodaphone 40gb at fill speed and 1.5mbs unlimited afterwards (if I'm not mistaken) for $60 pm prepaid. My wife got a prepaid Lebara xxl, 70gb for $69 and unlimited overseas call to her family and local aswell. We have canned our troublesome adsl2 and as nbn is not available in our area till 2021 this seems like a suitable alternative. Keep your eyes peeled guys, the market is changing quickly with some great options appearing.

  • Do a monthly sim hop until a deal comes along that suits you. Last year I spent less than $40 for the whole year.

    • Damn elaborate pls haha

  • Back again, forgot to mention that Kogan, to their credit, has a great deal of 2 for the price of one for new customers on the 365 day, 23gb, unlimited call deal, works out at less than $22p/m each. Not bad at all.

    • New customer only & I heard you need to port out for at least a month?

      Would love someone to confirm.

  • Thanks for the replies people. Yesterday I received an email from Kogan headed "Get Up to 40% Off Kogan Mobile Prepaid Options".
Unfortunately they are only discounting the Large (now $254.30pa) and Extra Large ($315.10) Plans, not the Small that I want. That remains the same as my original post.
