Not knocking this deal, just a couple of things to be aware of, I think that the Origin models don't come with a powerhead (turbo brush/brush-head) for carpets and a Dyson branded powerhead, which does a good job is around a hundred bucks or so, possibly a bit more. If you don't have carpets, not an issue IMO, but if you've got carpets and a pet like a hairy dog or cat then I'd def suggest costing in the turbo head too as the standard head doesn't really cut it for pet hair on carpet IMO.

But, not a bad deal, just something to be aware of.

    • dont want to buy balls without a powerhead! no happy time

    Dyson stopped making corded vacuums.

Get with the times and get a cordless stick

Think that’s wrong. They may have stopped development into them at this stage. I think they are still making them.

  • Look around, I walked into a 2nd hand shop. Not the best quality but still sucks HARD!

Dyson Cinetic Animal Pro or whatever it is… RRP: $1100 I think, snatched it for $200!

    Seen a few around

If you've got access to an air-compressor, I'd suggest grabbing at least a dust mask, but better with a respirator, and going to a nice open outdoor area and blowing all the crap out of the drum and the canister, just to ensure you get any nasty bits and pieces. Better yet, I'd probably take apart, gently wash and leave to dry in the sun to kill of any nasty bugs inside. You just never know with a second hand vacuum, but still, sounds like not a bad deal.

I'd def replace the filter though. You can get replacement filters from Dyson, just ring em and they'll ship out.

Up to you obviously, just my thoughts.

    Damn those balls are huge!

    • That's what she said.

  • Why would you buy one of these instead of a hand-held? Apart from capacity there is no reason anymore.

Maybe someone has a massive that needs >60 mins of vacuuming.
There was also a comment on a recent Dyson handstick deal that mentioned that the stick Dyson’s are good, but some large vacs suck better (the article actually tested the suction power)
