Hi all,

My first deal so please be gentle. I was looking around for a new headset for the Xbox one and came across a recommendation for these. Reviews say they have great sound quality for a headset of their normal price and they look rather nice too. Delivery date is a few weeks though with no option to speed it up if wanted. Don't forget the 6% cashback too.

Catch currently have them for $88.04 and they're listed at JB Hi-Fi for $179.

The LucidSound LS20 is a new class of gaming headset which unites high fidelity audio and advanced gaming control with intuitive modern design. Featuring Active (amplified) and Passive (unpowered) modes, the LS20 incorporates a built in rechargeable Lithium ion battery providing powered amplification when used with a console, PC, or mobile device yet is still able to work in passive mode when powered off. Taking design cues from our flagship LS30, the LS20 features the LS30's acclaimed ear cup controls allowing gamers to instantly and intuitively access game volume, game mute, and mic mute. Plug in a smartphone, and volume, mute, mic mute, call, and playback controls are all at your fingertips. The Bass Boost option allows for an even more powerful audio range and built in mic monitoring lets players hear their own voice through the headset. A removable boom mic and an integrated mic make the LS20 a truly multi use headset.

  • Thanks op. Looks good. Which Xbox controller do you have? Can’t get my 3.5 mm ones to work with new controller which has 3.5 mm plug built in. Anyway might buy for grandson who is avid gamer.

    • I've got an Elite controller. I haven't had any trouble with any headphones with a 3.5mm so far except for the kids breaking them or chewing the mics, hence why I was on the search for a new budget set.

      • Thanks for the reply.Bought one for myself. Might get another for grandson still.

          A gaming grandad - legendary!

  • Would this be good microphone quality for twitch streaming?

    Not 30c. No deal.

  • Cheers OP, got one.

  • is this also compatible with pc/ps4?
    thank you

  • Thanks OP - reviews seem ok. It looks like it has built in mic monitoring as well so you could use a Microsoft headset adapter for hardware controls for mixing game and chat audio (the Microsoft headset adapter doesn't provide mic monitoring whereas the Turtle Beach headset adapter does).

I have this headset and it's great. I paid $99 from OzGameShop when Gears of War 4 came out. Highly recommend it at this price. I'm currently using it with my PS4 while I play Monster Hunter: World with friends. Very comfortable for moderate hours of use (2 to 3 hours - depends on your ears I suppose).

Even when the power runs out it will still work passively.

At this price I can't resist so I bought a 2nd one to use at work. :D

    • What happens after 3 hours? Does it get unbearable?

      • My ears start to get a little bit sore where the cups press against the ears, but it is also exacerbated because I wear glasses. The new version that Lucidsound are releasing this year have oval ear cups as opposed to circular ones to help fit the ears better for longer wear time before discomfort.

I think wear time would differ between each person dependant on you ear shape and size.

  • Got these for 100 bucks last year for my son, who uses them on his PS4 and PC and they are of a solid build quality and the audio is excellent.
Have played online with him and his speech sounded fine though his microphone.
They feel a little tight on my big head, but he loves them. He's a teen.

Seriously considering grabbing these at this price to just have around as back up.

EDIT - Bugger it. I just grabbed a pair. Really good value at this price point.

  • got one! thank you

  • grabbed two. Thanks OP.

  • On my roughly 2 year old, maybe less, Dell notebook, I have a headphone socket (3.5mm) but no additional Mic socket.

I believe this is standard nowadays and that it's a dual socket (?)

But when I plug in my mobile phone headphones, and another pair which also have a mic on it, and if I go to a mic test website, I can't get the mics to work.

    Would anyone know why?

I'd be interested to buy these headphones but I'm not sure if I need to, or if it's better to, buy USB headphones just so that they do work (albeit with PC only)

  • Why do they come up as $50 and not the $38.26 as mentioned?

  • Has this expired? It is showing $50 here too.
