A little cheaper than TA's deal earlier this year. See all previous deals

DressLily is another site owned by the same group that owns Rosegal/Gearbest etc.

I contacted rep yesterday who told me there is some 500 in stock and to ignore the 8 in stock displayed.

Very important: Pay in USD as their AUD rate is heavily inflated, also untick shipping insurance at checkout. Ensure the total is US $3.59 before paying. If the total shows as AU $5.32 you haven't changed the currency to USD in the top left, if showing as US $4.77 you haven't unticked shipping insurance. If showing as AU $7.07 you need to both change the currency to USD and untick shipping insurance.

Thanks got one, but I couldn't redeem any 'D' points for some reason.

I'm starting to get overloaded with things that will come in handy one day. But bought one anyway.

  • +6

I got one earlier this year to fetch a watch that fell down the bathroom drain.

the camera function stopped working (forever) after 10 minutes of use, but in the end I managed to get the watch back thanks to the hook that came with the unit.

so I guess it's a win, despite the obvious crapware designation.

One I purchased failed after I put it in water. Bottom line: they aren't waterproof.

The other issue is the cable is soft and just goes where it wants, not where you want it to.

"The other issue is the cable is soft and just goes where it wants, not where you want it to."

This is probably so that it can go down a pipe easily.

        • No, you actually want the cable to be somewhat rigid otherwise it won't go down the pipe. Think about it this way, try pushing a string along a table by feeding more string onto the table. It doesn't work, it just piles up.

      • This is why you are nil by mouth for 24 hrs when you get a colonscopy. The waterproof cameras are an extra $5 and no doctor or hospital admin wants that much coming out of their pocket!

    • I bought one just in case I lost something in an engine bay but probably by the time I need it the software will be incompatible.

I did have a look behind a piece of furniture but it was pretty hard to manoeuvre and see very far in front of the camera. I have seen the "Project Farm" channel on YouTube use one of these (maybe a more expensive model though) to good effect to look inside an engine cylinder and a petrol tank on a mower.

      pooped in?

  • I want to check my stormwater when it rains, bought. Also, it's like 5 bucks. What the hell, why not. Also I want to see why my kitchen sink smells when I put boiling water down it.

    • +1

My guess for the reason of the smell is that the bacteria from accumulated food is 'cooking' when you poor boiling water down it. I was always of the belief that pooring boiled water down your sink is quite bad for the pipes - mostly if they're plastic, so I always run the cold tap at the same time as disposing of the boiled water.

      • Yeah I think you're right. My brother says for me to replace the s bend thing, because that's where the stuff would be accumulating. I'll have a look with the camera first then replace it. They are plastic pipes, house is 25 years old. I'll put some cold down from now on, too. Thanks!

        • Why don't you just take out the S-bend, clean it and reinstall it?

It should just be connected by a couple of union fittings.

        • @SpottyMoose: my brother's a plumber and I'll get a new one cheap, plus eww.

  • Thanks for posting! Was after one of these to replace my broken one

  • Stuck it up my nose and my colleagues nose. Sitting in a drawer at work now
    ..

  • Can never get these things working with my (Android) phone.

  • Anyone get this working on phones with USB-c? Couldn't get anything on nexus 6p or mate 10 pro using USB-c to micro adapter.

    • Wait…It not support usb type c? I just bought it for my mate 10 pro.

    • Just convinced me not to bother, thanks!

  • Ordered. Mine came to $5.13 Aus after paypal. I think the magnetic hook will be handy.

  • Tempting and I could probably find a use for it at my job.

That said can anybody confirm compatibility with USB-C phones?

So no jokes about using this to perform one's own endoscopy? Disappointment.

    • +1

Just 5 out of the first 6 comments and a few others too?

      • Don't know how I missed that, I stand corrected.

  • Item arrived today. Straight into Fathers day gifts for Sunday. I love it when I have to organise my own presents. Dont have to justify it. Buy wifey has already said its a few more thsn what she ended up with for Mothers day. 4 parcels arrived thid week which I didn't expect.

  • Resolution not that great when close up. Needs a macro mode. The instructions indicate to go to kkmoom website for PC download. No website. It comes with a small disk, but not playable if you don't have a converter carrier for your laptop. My laptop doesn't have a slide out tray to sit the small CD in.

For what it is its ok for price point. Could be better.

The resolutions says 1080x720 on PC. Thats if you can get it working on PC. Anyone have a proper link to do that.

Theres a button on the control switch. Whats that for? There a wheel to adjust the brightness of the light which is good.

  • Mine arrived yesterday. Annoyed that it's a micro B plug, but it works a treat on my old Note 3.
The 'instructions' say it needs OTG capability, so maybe an OTG cable on a USB C device might work? I don't have an OTG cable to test it on the V30+ though.

Pretty good device for five bucks.
