  • Is this the EVO+ or EVO Plus? There are various images.

    • The images are all Plus (not +) as far as I can see.

      • The first image with the 4 cards shows a EVO+ for the 256GB card. Never mind.

    • Looks like plus to me, but sorry for the ignorance, what is the difference?

      • +1

Plus has 100MB read, + has 95MB read.

        • +1

I would imagine the write speed is more important. What’s that? 90 vs 60?

        • @cnut: The write speed has always been 90 for the EVO+ and EVO Plus 128GB and above models. It is still 60 for the 64GB and lower version EVO+ and EVO Plus.

  • +4

Best $ per Gb is 128GB, I paid around $250 for the 256GB a year ago!

    • +1

They were giving them out like candy when the note 7 was released

    • You got ripped, you could easily find them for $100-120

  • Reeee, just bought a 200gb one yesterday.

  • just checked ebay, can be bought for 95 with adapter, where's the bargain? show me how to copy ebay link and i post it here

    • +7

Ebay is absolutely riddled with fakes. This is a great price from a decent seller.

They all come with the adapter in the packet, since it's worth about 20c.

      • This is from an eBay seller. But a reputable seller though.

    • +3

This is a good deal. As stated lots of fakes on eBay, and this is the Evo Plus, not the standard Evo

Title and link are Tech Mall, while related store says PC Byte?

Never bought from Tech Mall before - they are legit?

    • 99.4% Positive feedback from almost 64000 sales is pretty legit to me..

    • 'Tech mall', 'Gaming City' and 'Tech Century' all seem to be different storefronts for whatever company runs PC Byte.

      • Right after that ebay plus promotion sale fiasco, we don't see much of PC byte sales anymore.

    • Has anyone actually confirmed that they are pcbyte? "Tech mall" does not have an ABN and is not a registered trading name.

      • Yeah it's definitely PC Byte, eBay always gets them confused when writing terms pages so that confirms it. They've got a few different eBay stores, flash pro is another one.

Shopping Express is the same, they have SE eBay, shallothead, Futu and probably others.

      • Yeah I ordered something from them last week, invoice came from [email protected]

  • +3

I ordered the 128GB one a few days ago (from Tech Mall) and it should arrive tomorrow I think - I'll run it through a rigorous testbed (sdspeed) to see how it performs (both speed and actual capacity) compared to previous ones I've bought (including the 256GB Evo Plus I got from a different seller a while back).

    • +1

Good stuff I'm sure many of us would appreciate it.

As with all of these SD card deals, everybody should be running checks on the cards immediately. Even if it is a super reputable seller.

Bought the 128GB one a while back from Banggood. Checked out as genuine thankfully.

      • Just wonder how did you test the SD card was genuine

        • Download H2testw and run it

    • Awesome, let us know your findings! :)

      • +2

I tested the Samsung 128GB EVO Plus microSDXC I got from Tech Mall today with sdspeed and it checks out at 77MB/s average write speed and the full 119.2GB of data is ok.
Note that unlike most other speed testers which just do a quick speed check sdspeed writes across the entire card and reads it all back with content checking to ensure both an average speed across the whole card and ensures that it's not faking the card size

Are the $30 128 GB cards a thing of the past.

Speaking of the past, remember when my brother brought home a computer with 1GB storage. We were the envy of the neighbours, and this was a huge jump from the commodore 64

    • I find it mind boggling that SD cards now have greater capacities than a computer I got 5 years ago.

    • $30 was an ebay plus incentivised deal.

    • 128 GB is still the sweet spot atm

      • "SD Adapter" is the sweet spot

  • So $42.40 is the best price for $128 GB?
    Sigh

  • Man, I have been looking for a micro sd card for my new Gopro hero 5, and it has been challenging. I can't find exactly what would be suitable, there is so many different cards… Anyone knows if this 128GB would work for recording in full HD?

    • +1

      Absolutely

  • +1

    REEEEEEEEEEEEE spent $108 yesterday.

  • Yay just bought one….hope they are genuine. :)

  • Bought 3, thanks OP

  • Just bought 1! No PC Byte reference though. even invoice says Tech Century.. I hope it's genuine!

    edit: email address has pcbyte

  • When do you get the invoice? And is it a tax invoice?
