Westone 3 Earphones - US $319 Delivered

110
WES3

Received this e-mail today from Earphonesolutions.com and they have dropped the price on their Westone 3 earphones, plus are offering $30 off their discounted price. These used to be around $400-$500 and are truly high end earphones.

Free shipping to Australia helps a lot!

You might be happy with your 50c Apple earphones and I know this deal won't be for everyone, but just putting it out there for any audiophiles interested in a pair.

  • Are these worth almost 4x the price of the RE0's ?

    • +1

I would say so, but my opinion is entirely subjective.

Depends what you listen to, and what you use to listen (ie: iPod, computer etc). Generally iPods do not give high end earphones a chance to shine because they don't have a dedicated amplifier, and their sound production is sub-par compared to most Creative or Cowon mp3 players.

    • After going through 4 sets of RE0's due to poor quality, I would say yes.

Actually, the Apple Earphones cost $39, they only sound like they cost 50c.

+1 the Apple Earphones (ones that come in the box—>Genuine)
are not good at all, just like the apple cables

IMO, the chinese knockoffs do a way better job than these for the fraction of the price

      • what's wrong with apple cables? Aren't cables just cables afterall? (excluding sound/display-wise)

        • +1

they just are made of bad quality(both earphones and cable), idk if it's just me though, although i do see alot of broken apple earphones.

the rubber from the cable/earphone usually break from long use
          sorta like this

          and this

but with the non-genuine apple cables/earphones, the rubber on them do not break

          might be just me though

        • I've been wondering about the quality of the cables myself.
The cable that came with my iPhone looks like the cable from the first picture and I've only had it for a year.

I can't believe how crap their 'genuine' earphones and cables are.

  • If you spend $300 on the speaker…how much do you spend on the hardware that runs it?

  • Sorta sad that these guys sell Dr Dre :P

    • +1

Oh my god… Bieber Beats, the world is going to end!

      • Do they come with the androgynous Bieber 'hair helmet' as well? :p

      • And You realise he has his own movie as well
plus the fact that Lil Wayne broke world records for most likes in 24 hours, something that oreos started but he copied.

Yes the world is definitely going to end

  • As an alternative, you can get the UE TripleFi for about $200-$220 AUD delivered from amazon.com or ebay. You will have to use a redirection service like shipito.com if buying from Amazon.

Then spend about $250 and get them remolded into customs :) - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/38946

    • UE is trash compared to even Westone 1 [Tested them at Hong Kong Airport]
I wouldn't spend so much on in-ears though, just putting it out there, UEs cannot be compared to the level of Westone.

      • Disclaimer: obviously cwongtech's opinion. :D

      • TripleFi is great. but it is definitely uncomfortable.

receivers can be good or bad depending on your taste.

btw I'm using Westone 2 as it is more comfortable in both listening & wearing.

        I still like triplefi

  • Good price if you need them now, but 10-15% off coupons float around all the time, saving you more than the $30.

  • One of the finest in-ear monitor. I think they offer discount as Westone 4 is coming out…

  • Free shipping is first class which I wouldnt risk with $300+ earphones

  • i thought earphonesolutions always had the Westone 3's for $349? earphonesolutions have some of the most competitive prices when it comes to high end earphones however that rule doesn't seem to apply with Westone's…. i've noticed they overquote some of the RRP's.

if you go the official Westone site you can see the 2's and 3's with quoted RRP prices of USD249 and USD349 respectively….

anyhow, without going off the topic i acknowledge there is a $30 discount on the 3's making it a bargain of sorts. i am also a huge fan of westones - i was in a music shop last year and tested a bunch of earphones, the westone earphones definitely took it in my books in terms of quality and comfort, just a lil too rich for my blood

if you don't want to spend a fortune, the shure 115's are great value for money and can be had for $79 on the same website, similarly comfy levels to the westone's even if it doesn't sound as good, i was using them for a while until i upgraded to the UE700's courtesy of another ozbargain post

  • Good Price
BUT I wouldn't buy one without trying them.

I'm using westone 2 at the moment. I've tried westone 3.
If you like clear sound of westone 2, you might not like westone 3
it's totally up to your taste but I would get UM3X over westone 3.
