Just be careful, this won't be the disneyfied versions that you're used to. It's a bit like Game of Thrones: Everyone dies!

  • Hehehe… Expected no less. Mayb3 that was why they were called the Brothers Grimm in the first place? Thanks for the heads up, methinks.

    Oi! Any US link? Thanks.

Noob question… I can’t seem to find the link to “buy” it. I downloaded the Kindle app; and I want to read that Tale of the Starving Children.

You followed the link above? Does it have "Buy now with 1-Click" on the right side of the web page?

      • Okay that was weird. I did not get that button to Buy Now by following the link above. That page gave me a message saying the book was not available to buy in the AU store. So I changed the URL to .com and it worked for me.

        Thanks for your help, JerryB.

OOh I had the Brothers Grimm Compendium as a kid, these versions are brutal!

  • +3

It's royalty free, and has been for a long time. You can download it from places like gutenburg. And yes, not really fairy tales, more like folk tales from superstitious old europe.

    • Sometimes ancestors will republish them with an original foreword, which gives the book as a whole a new copyright, at least if you want to include the foreword from someone who was not the original author.

  • have you seen the grimm TV series? it draws upon the brutality of those times artistically.

  • Damn!! Amazon wouldn't let me buy it. there is a weird message that says i already bought this title back in 2016 :(

    • You can still download it if bought in 2016.
