    aphids - teaspoon dish soap with 1 liter of water in spray bottle
    white oil for scales - add a teaspoon or two of veggie oil to aphid mix and shake in sprayer
    powdery mildew - add teaspoon or two of baking soda to aphid mix and spray above and below leaf

    caterpillars and snail/slugs i have yet to find a home solution other than hand picking. i use pyre-thrum for the caterpillars when they come in large numbers.

    • I had a scale problem on a hedge, no fancy product or home-made solution helped one bit. The only thing that solved the problem was a good and easy spray with $1.50 fly spray.
