Event Cinemas Upgrade to Vmax for Standard Movie Price @ Mastercard

1200

Upgrade to Vmax for the price of a standard movie. The only way to make this year’s most epic movies even epic-er.

Vmax is big: big seats, big sound, a big 20-metre digital screen. So we were like, “hold our popcorn!” and added big savings too.

Redeem this offer on any Vmax movie any time, just not after 5pm on Saturdays.

Popcorn & a drink for $5 to go along here

Would it apply to movie booked using vouchers?

    • No, it only allows you to book 1 or 2 Vmax tickets for $18.50 each.

  • Would it apply on top of the cinebuzz special ticket for different cinema?

Would it apply using Telstra tickets

    • Anyone know the answer to this?

    • No, works out to be the same.

  • Tbh the only time I've ever visited vmax was on Cheap Tuesday.
It was better than the usual event cinemas but the vmax wasn't much better than other cinemas around (that were cheaper…)

    • That depends on if your other cheaper cinemas also have updated Atmos speaker layout. For someone like me I notice the sound quality and it lessens my enjoyment. I'm an absolute visual/audio whore so if I'm paying their rip off prices to see a film I expect the quality to be up there. Otherwise I'll wait till bluray and watch it on my own 4K/Atmos setup.

      • Redding Cinemas up at Charlestown are like $8 a ticket and have one of the best cinemas around imo.

Also Hoyts are normally pretty good (with a few exceptions).

      • AV junkie should not be going to regular cinema full stop.

        IMAX only

        • Unfortunately Darwin doesnt have an IMAX. We're lucky to have evolved passed tube tvs.

  • Try to validate with my MasterCard credit card but not working. Anyone can confirm only works on debit card?

Vmax should be the standard, the "normal" cinema screens are a joke for the money they charge.

Event cinemas really needs to upgrade their seating. After going to Hoyts for so long.No matter what movie or cinema you watch the movie in? They all have recliners. So paying for event cinemas is always a downgrade in my eyes. Only reason i went to Event/Vmax session, was because of The Meg being shown a day earlier.

    • This. I'll only see movies at Hoyts with Rec these days, unless the movie isn't playing there (or I get free Gold Class tickets).

    • Hoyts at Erina have scabby seats and only go to the Event.

It depends on the actual cinema. One of the Event Cinemas nearby has nice comfy seating, but at the other, there is one room where half the seats are literally broken and rock from side to side where they’re coming out of the floor.

Even within each chain, there’s huge variability between cinemas, and even within the rooms in each.

  • The starting numbers of your card number aren't unique. I only have a Mastercard credit card, but a quick Google showed 516361 as a valid first 6 digits. Signed up and worked no problem.

    Edit - Crap wrong post

Can’t stand Vmax because of the annoying blue isle lights!

    • Yes!!!. Infinity war I got the end seat and it distracted me the whole time, doesn’t phase me though if I sit elsewhere

    • Not all of them have this, Hornsby I remember being annoying but top rydes is great and usually empty!

    Is this for village too
