Accor Plus and Accor Business Plus

G'day Ozbargainers,

I'm after some advice on the Accor Plus and Accor Business memberships.

I'm trying to work out if it is worth buying one or both of these memberships for an upcoming trip to Fiji in December. I'm looking at staying at the Sofitel on Denauru island.

My questions are:

  1. Does the Accor Plus membership get you any extra discount or upgrades through the booking portal? If so, does this outweigh the cost of buying in Australia ($395) vs buying in Fiji (~$200). I want this card for the 50% discount on food and the free night mainly.

  2. Does the Accor Business card get you 15%-20% EXTRA discount at the Sofitel Fiji (compared to the ~5% discount for being a standard 'classic' Le Club Accor member), or is it 15-20% off the full non-member price?

  3. Can I stack the Accor Business discount with 6% Cash Rewards cash back when booking?

  4. Can I then pay with discounted Accor gift cards at the hotel (10% off Accor gift cards with Blatchy's Blues membership).

  5. Is there any advantage on buying the Ibis Business membership to obtain Gold LeClub status?

Cheers in advance.

  • I think you'll want to read The Ultimate Accor Plus Guide 2018 to get a nice summary of benefits, including some you may not know.

    1. Yes. 10% discount on Best Available Rate — and they guarantee the lowest Internet rate available.

    2. See #1.

    3. Best to ask the CashRewards peeps for their arrangements with Accor.

    4. No. "The AccorHotels Gift Card can only be used towards publically available rates" — see "Redeeming" in Gift Cards FAQ

    5. Yes! Instant Gold Status — check The Ultimate Guide linked above.

    • Thanks for the reply.

I did read that guide, I must have missed the 10% off bit though. I wonder if that is 10% off the full price or 10% off the Le Club member rate which is about 5% cheaper than the full rate?

Also with the Accor Business card 15-20% off discount. Is this off the full rate or the Le Club rate?

      Cheers.

    • Quick update: new link to the Ultimate Accor Plus Guide

  • Hi,

In addition to the last post:
    1. I live in Australia but have bought the membership from Fiji for many years now. Same membership & benefits as if you bought it from Australia.
    3. I use Cashback / Cashrewards when making payment through the Accor website
    4. I use the discounted Accor cards at the hotel, but this is only for things like food & drinks, not paying for the accommodation. But there might be ways around this, I just am not aware. Also note you don't get a refund of any balance, so make sure you use the full amount on the card in one go. I just buy $100 cards, not $200.
    5. You can't have both Accor Plus & Ibis business on one account. You need to choose one or the other.

    • Thanks for the info.

Do you need to supply a Fijian address or can you just buy it through Accor when you arrive in Fiji and then just renew online each year? What's the cost if you don't mind me asking?

Did you mean you can't have Accor Business and Ibis business memberships on one account?
The only value of the Ibis business I can see is for gold status and possible room upgrades whereas the Accor Business gives you real 15-20% discount off room rates. Do you have experience with either?

      • No need for a Fijian address, just call Accor Plus Fiji directly.

      • You can email Fiji [email protected] or call them. I just renewed my membership a few weeks ago and it was $188.

No I mean you can't have Accor Plus & Ibis business on one account (to my knowledge anyway and I have tried to do both). I don't know if the Accor Business and Ibis Business work on one account as I don't have the Accor Business membership, and don't know if the Accor Business and Accor Plus accounts work together. But I don't think you can stack all these memberships on one account.

I have never felt the need to get the Accor business card as I keep up to date with the Accor promotions and try and book when they have the 40% + 10% member promos, plus other promos such as 35% off and free breakfast etc. But if you are leaving soon, then you may have missed some of these promos for now.

You can read more about the Ibis card here:
        https://businesstravel.accorhotels.com/hotel-subscription-ca…

This is the key part as it mentions Le Club card is upgraded… not Accor Plus membership. I still suggest you do your own research
When you have an ibis BUSINESS card, your Le Club AccorHotels loyalty card is automatically upgraded to GOLD status.

        • Hey thanks for clarifying.
The Flight Hacks ultimate guide referenced above says you can stack Accor plus and Ibis business to get Gold Le Club status. Maybe they didn't research it properly?
Anyway you have given me lots of good info to think about.
          Cheers.

        • @Helmutson: I was told that you can use 2 separate accounts. Use Accor plus to book the sale as it's usually quite good in terms of price. Then when you arrive at the hotel or a few days before you check in, send a polite email to the property and tell them you are a gold member and let them know the membership number. If you ask politely they might give you the GOLD status benefits which is to upgrade your already booked room to next level (which you paid with Accor plus discount). This often works out to be quite nicely but not 100% guaranteed success. It really depends on the property and your luck.

        • @Helmutson: something else to think about is a new promo from Accor that was emailed today. 40% off for members and includes Fiji. Offer Ends 28th August. 30% for non Accor Plus members.

        • Yes, I bit earlier than I expected, although they are not calling it a Supersale & this one doesn't include breakfast.

          Here are the details:
          www.accorhotels.com/gb/promotions-offers/hot-deals-offers/ow…

        • @Gaz1: Yes I saw your post today on this. I had a go at plugging in my travel dates in December for the Fiji Sofitel and it keeps coming up with a "No hotel matches your specific rate". In fact it appears that the rate has gone up around $10 for the 6 night stay!
          Cheeky buggers!

        • +1

Emailed the Fiji Accor Plus people. Got a call from a lovely lady who duly signed me up for $315 fijian dollars ~$204AUD. Very helpful and painless. No fijian address required, was happy to post the card out to my Australian address.

        • @Helmutson: Yes, it's a great deal via Fiji.

        • How do you sign up Indonesia Accor Plus?

        • +1

@arctan: I have Indonesian AccorPlus membership. The price for new member has increased to 3,200,000 IDR (~300AUD) but you will get 2 complimentary nights. You need access to an address in Indonesia as the card will be delivered there. Accor app used to have a digital card functionality but it’s no longer there the last time I check.

        • +1

@orangeblossom: I can still see my digital card on the Accor app.

  • Its actually $320 per membership if you call up accor plus directly and sign up and not through the internet

    • Hey is this for new memberships or for renewals?

      Cheers.

  • I have been a member via Fiji for some time (PM if you need contact details) & booking the free night is easy via the website. Easy to get your $200 membership back in just the free night, let alone the 50% off food.
We have even used the free night during a supersale over a long weekend & they seem to give you the most expensive night as the free night (which is extremely generous). Obviously don't expect a free night during peak holidays, etc.
The discount sometimes works out to be more that 10% off the rate I see if I am not logged in as it is an additional 10% off the full rate.
During the Supersales (next one likely to be October/November from past experience) they usually give everyone 30% off & Accor plus 40% off the full rates. For example if normal room rate is $300 then Le Club should be $210 & Accor Plus should be $180 (which is actually about 14% cheaper than the Le Club promo price).
Another bonus is that the 50% off food works even if you are not staying (we often use this if going to a show in the city) & works on the entire food bill (not just the main course) but you must dine with 2 people.
Yes, I receive cashrewards when booking on the Accor Plus rates.

Remember that the Accor Plus card only works in the Asia Pacific region.
Sorry, I don't know anything about the Ibis business card & haven't used Accor Gift Cards.
    Hope this helps.

    • Hi Gaz can you send or pm your rep details been a member since 1995 and Australia won't bud on price.

      • Hi, No problem - I'll do this shortly.

        • me me me as well!

    • Can you send me a PM your rep details as well thanks in advance!

  • Thanks all for the great comments.
One more question I have is whether anyone knows if the Accor Plus 50% meal discount can be used for breakfast at the Fiji Sofitel?
The Table Plus page only mentions dinner times, no mention of whether you can get discounted breakfast buffets.

    Cheers.

    • I'm not sure about the Sofitel Fiji, but I think all the other places I stayed at that took the Accor Plus card allowed it to be used for breakfast.
If you wanted to be sure I would suggest you contact them directly:
      [email protected]

    • It can be different. At Sofitel Bangkok I was only getting 15% off on the breakfast buffet.

  • Hi all,

I’m interested in signing up Accor Plus membership. I’m after 2-night certificate if possible. I believed this is via Indonesia (but seems Indonesia has been changed to 1-night cert?). I’m also happy for 1-night cert (seems the cheapest is via Fiji membership?). Can someone please give me their Accor plus contact?
    Thanks

  • As tonca mentioned above, just contact Accor Plus Fiji direct.

  • +1

Indonesia Renewal is 2,300,000 rupiah for 1 complimentary night
and 3,000,000 rupiah for 2 nights. Require an Indonesian
address for the card etc mail out.

  • Hi all,

Thanks for the info. Got a reply from Accor Plus Fiji said they not longer able to process membership sales for overseas residents.

How did people receive their membership if apply via Accor Plus Indonesia (if they still able to process membership for overseas residents)? Did anyone have experience using mail forwarding service?

    Thanks

    • Is this a new policy? A lot of people were able to join.

    • +1

You require an address in Indonesia to sign
      up for the Indonesian version.

  • I think its a new policy. Accor Fiji replied "not longer able to".

    Cheers

    • Would you not be able to use a VPN and by-pass or am i missing something?

      I'll try it out later.

  • +2

By the way, I joined up Accor Plus 2 weeks ago via Indonesia which typically requires some ‘work around’ given the residency requirements.

Regardless, prices for Accor Plus via Indonesia are as follows:
New Membership 1 stay plus (1x complimentary night) IDR 2,500,000 ($250 AUD)
Yearly Renewal 1 stay plus (1x complimentary night) IDR 2,300,000 ($230 AUD)
New Membership 2 stay plus (2x complimentary nights) IDR 3,900,000 ($390 AUD)
Yearly Renewal 2 stay plus (2x complimentary nights) IDR 3,200,000 ($320 AUD)

Ideally if you holiday yearly in Bali – its definitely worth having Accor Plus via Indonesia as you receive yearly Indonesia only vouchers (i.e. 2x rooms upgrade certificates, 4x breakfast certificates for 2 people, 1x birthday cake & IDR 300,000 dinning certificate for groups of 6)

I also used Accor Plus to book Red Hot rooms in Bali at 40% off and 50% off breakfast 10 days ago. Red Hot rooms are good if your travelling within the next 6 weeks.

I also used it last Sunday for Mother’s Day at the Pullman in Melbourne for a Buffett Breakfast (includes unlimited fresh juices, fruits, eggs station, espresso, hot food, cereals, desserts etc) for 2x adults and 2x children (under 16) for a grand total of $38.50!

Feel free to PM me and I’ll refer your details to my Accor Plus contact who will set you up.

    • Those buffet brekkies at the Pullman are truly exceptional value at $38.50. Stayed there four nights and experienced the same, though kids need to be under 13 I think.

      • Maybe your right. But both my kids are under 10. Maybe its just the Novotel that’s under 16?
I am going to try the FULL BREAKFAST (Includes all continental items, one hot item from the a la carte menu – such as signature Pulled Duck Eggs Benedict + espresso coffee) for $35 at The Como Melbourne MGallery by Sofitel. I called up and its $35 total for 2x adults and 2x kids (under 10). Seems like a great deal. I’ll give you the verdict in a few weeks.

        • I look forward to it!

    • Hey mate, would you be able to refer me on for this? Have been trying to get on it for almost a week and been unable to

      • Hi edsb123

Please enable private messages in your settings for me to discuss the particulars with you.

        • Done!

    • Hey mate. Bit of a late reply on an old post but is there any chance you can refer me to this as well? Cheers!

  • Anyone can advise which restaurant or bar in big cities in Australia are member with Accor Plus ? I know there is one restaurant in Sydney Airport (Modiva ???) does it and its so great saving
