Hi does anyone have an stories, good, bad, otherwise about travelling with China Eastern Airlines?
We've got a trip booked with them at the end of the year to the USA and want to know what to expect.

it's probably one of the better chinese airlines, 7 star safety rating. don't expect stellar service although never had a problem, food slightly better than the rest of the chinese airlines
never had an issue with them at all
From experience, planes that fly to china are fairly old, for both airchina and southern airlines. so uncomfortable. Not sure about US, probably better because more passengers
I have used them for internal flights in China. They were ok. Biggest problem were the Chinese passengers. Their general level of personal hygiene and what they thought was acceptable behaviour in a crowded airplane was beyond belief. E.g. Guy beside me dressed professionally in a suit blew his nose into his hands and wiped it all over the back of the seat in front of him during the flight. WTF!
Absolute disgrace. I have had the misfortune of travelling with them 3 times- unavoidable bookings by others. Service, food, transits, communication all sub standard. I’d seriously reconsider.
Had 2 flights to China on them and had no issues
Syd-KTm with china eastern transit.
i was told in Fbook message by china eastern
quote " For luggage transfer in Kunming, you will have to claim the luggage and re-check in at Kunming".
that is big hassale.
