Thanks Risto ðŸĪ™ðŸĪ™ðŸĪŠðŸĪŠðŸĨ‡ðŸĨ‡ Have a great weekend!

  • Any offers coming up to coffee blends ? :)

    • I have Magical Unicorn, Jamocha and Fortitude roasted. If you send funds to [email protected] through Paypal rather than using the checkout button on deal then it will allow you to leave notes about coffees. We can't guarantee changes but welcome notes to be left and will try to help as much as possible.

On this occassion as the coffee blends are within price range and currently being roasted then it is no problem to change to any of the above blends if notes are left in Paypal for packing team :)

    I ordered last time ,
    Hyperactive is burned. Not good.

I have 2 other bags left. First one was good.

Don't do that for lucky dip.

    Thank you.

    • @nicholastyc Sorry to hear you didn't like Hyperactive, didn't receive any other feedback about last batch of hyperactive. Usually don't roast too dark as not my style but don't worry no Hyperactive being roasted at the moment so won't be lucky dip :)

These are all specialty coffees from our direct relationships with the farmers or farm owners. When you've finished your current coffee or wanting to place another order I always have a great selection in stock available with different kinds of profiles etc

      • +1

Can confirm last batch of Hyperactive was good by me. Tho the other one, can't remember name, wasn't going well with milk.

        • I found hyperactive great, mostly used it for turkish coffee.

    • Someone's having a good day at work!

  • I typically like a dark, southern Italian style roast, do any of these suit?

    • +1

@ddr0001 These are all between medium-medium dark roasts. Possibly not quite as dark as you suggest and certainly not a French roast but would kindly suggest perhaps giving then a go and seeing for yourself. There are 4 different coffees to try all good for milk and espresso.

I can roast exact coffees to the more specific profiles people require but only through the standard website pricing/listings as they would require individual small batch roasts :)

      • Thanks for the reply. Good customer service!

  • Can we have 2 Columbia Papayan bags as part of this deal (+ 2 others in this current mix)? I had ordered it like this before :-)

    • Please read above threads about sending funds through Paypal to [email protected] so that notes can be left in Paypal for packing team. Failing this you can shoot through email request but we can't always guarantee as in busy periods it can take time to marry orders etc and can get missed.

We try to help whenever possible and notes in Paypal help as they are more visible for packing sheet :)
But ultimately yes I have the Popayan roasted and would be happy to substitute

      • I'm getting a different message from the CS team stating they don't allow switching one bag ( in my case the lucky dip ) for another bag in the current special.
Can I clarify to request for a specific request one has to go though the send funds methods with a message to be considered?

  • Where do you get the valve bags please

  • @mannabeans I'll need my order of beans to arrive on the 3rd Sept since that's when I'll be back in Melbourne. Any ideas when would be a good day to put my order in ? :)

    • Probably Friday 31st Aug would be best which should mean beans arrive on Monday 3rd as you wish. If you like when you place order near that time you could also send funds through Paypal to [email protected] which will allow notes to be left which will assist us with the transparency on packing slip so that we can be as accurate as possible and will notice request again when order is placed. :)

      • Great! Thanks for that and will be anticipating these magical unicorn beans on my arrival home ;)

  • +3

    Highly recommend maanabeans
They have been great with both the quality of beans and service

    • Thanks heaps!! You guys rock! 😁😁😁

  • +1

I have bought from them for a few years now.
My maanabeans is running real low.
Just bought. Hopefully it arrived by early next week.

    • Bob the Unicorn and I are roasting at record speeds!!! Operation Caffeinethenation! Should be ok!!!!

  • Long term customer here who can vouch for Manna. I get their monthly 2x500grm bags via paypal payment
Must admit it's been a long long time since I got a special or a single bean, it used to be normal practice but I understand that costs have gone up.
No lucky dip these days, just Jamocha ,Fortitude or Volcanic blends which are fine but single bean is always a nice product.

    • +1

Hey Luc, thanks for the feedback mate and I am awarding you a long service medal for your loyalty 🏅🏆

I have some pretty special singles in stock at the moment, some not even up on our site yet. Just scored 1 of only a couple of striped chilli bourbon coffees in existance which we will list soon. Also have some amazing new high end Colombians to go up

I think that this deal has about 3 of 4 being single origins, Colombian Noria, Brazil Lavinha and the lucky dip quite possibly Honduras Cheli for most.
The Honduras Cheli last year was a Cup Of Excellence winner auctioned off internationally at about the same price as this deal for just 1kg green bean.

This year it was around 87 points but still a great coffee. All coffees are now direct from farmers and all in specialty range. We try to keep to more chocolatey or mainstream profiles so as it's not too polarizing for some that are used to drinking more generic milk coffees but still cater to the more specialty sectors.

Last time I went against the grain and included a more expensive and polarizing Ethiopian coffee as per a regular customer request like yourself so would be happy to receive feedback on the average coffee drinkers consensus on the Ethiopian.

Shoot me an email Luc or puts some notes in Paypal so I can match your Ozbargain user id to your email and customer details and I'll put a note down to perhaps send a couple of samples on future orders or hook up some regulars with some small Christmas gifts or something!

Again thanx for taking time to pass on feedback and trhanks for your support. Have a great week 😁😁

  • @mannabeans Just getting through our last deal. Lucked out getting Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Areka and it was absolutely amazing. Just sent money via paypal for a regular 500g order of that + this deal with some preferences. Hope mixing and matching regular pricing and deals is fine.

    • No worries glad to hear that you enjoyed. I actually have a couple of ton of 90 and 91 point Ethiopians that are amazing but more unique. Leaving notes in Paypal via the send funds option is a great way for us to have visibility and I'll try to help as much as possible.

You can also let me know how you drink ie milk or black, long or short etc or brewing method and it can help us to work out ideal coffees to run :)

      Thanks heaps for feedback!

      • @mannabeans - Thanks. I already put the order in, so can't change the notes. Once I realized how good the Ethiopian one was, I started doing espresso or long blacks with it. But it's also really good in a strong flat white. Typical morning coffee would be a double shot in a 150ml cup. Previous order was the one that included the bonus teas (great, btw!). Both my wife and I agreed the Ethiopian Areka was the standout. And neither of us really liked the Columbia Noria (though friends thought it was fine). The Brazil Isidro Pereira was good, and we're just finishing up the Hyperactive blend (also good). Not sure what that says about our tastes, but that was the scorecard this time around.

  • Can any coffee expert help me? I just bought an Aeropress and I typically drink 2 cups of coffee per day. How long will a bag of beans last me?

If it would last me a long time, what is the best way to store it? Or am I better off buying single bag at a time for fresher brew?

    Thanks!

    • +4

Aeropress uses roughly 13-20g of beans (depends on your preference/recipe). A 250g bag will last you roughly 6-9 days at 2 coffees per day.

Best way to store beans - in the one way valve bags that most beans come in, stored in the cupboard away from direct sunlight/heat.

Coffees are pretty drinkable up to about a month post roast, give or take (depending on how particular you are). I'd say get 500g at a time and purchase every 2-3 weeks (depending on roast date of course). Adjust accordingly as per your own preference for freshness!

      Enjoy

  • Question for the store rep( or any1 else). In the coffee description, it states stuff like "Milk chocolate base with caramel flavours." does it mean actual chocolate has been used or it has the flavour of chocolate? Just asking. I might buy some as a present, however that person is lactose intolerant. Cheers

    • The flavour of chocolate.

Check out this coffee flavour wheel: http://coffeesnobs.com.au/Attachments/coffee_tasting_flavor_â€Ķ

    • +1

Thanks BenandFaith for the great info you passed on! The flavour wheel is a fantastic tool for people to develop their pallets and can be understood best when trying as a black coffee and is used when we cup coffees as a tool to describe flavours.

Correct also is that we add nothing to our coffees except a sprinkle of love. Sourcing quality coffee and processing methods and farming practices are important followed by correct roasting and the baristering at the other end. All of these combined will greatly improve your experience!

Anyone that want's to pop into our roastery in Brisbane and cup some coffees with our team and learn more some time are welcome to put their name down by emailing me at [email protected] and I'll send invites out for free when I next need some help cupping and testing new coffees to determine what to buy

  • How do these compare to Aldi Robusta blend ðŸĪ”

    • Jump on the caffeine train and see for yourself :) Choo Choo 🚂🚂🚂

  • I took the gamble due to all the positive comments above and ordered the $35 deal.
I wouldn't call it a bargain at this price? They better be good!

    • +1

      ðŸĪ™ðŸĪ™ðŸĪžðŸĪž Welcome Aboard!

    • Hey JTTheMan, hope you are enjoying :) Shipping cost for the $35 deal is a major factor. I believe it is still around $12-$13 express post for the 2 x 500g.

Another option is to get the $59.95 deal and share with a friend/family or perhaps freezing extra :)

      Cheers
      Simon

      • I've just about finished the "Magical Unicorn" bag and it was very nice, I'm about to open the "Colombia Nora" bag, probably tomorrow.

I don't want to purchase bulk beans as I like to brew freshly roasted beans rather than store them for months. Also, when were these beans roasted? There's no roast date on the bag!
Are you saying the $35 deal is now discontinued?
None of my friends/family use beans at home and I'm not sure how freezing beans affects the quality/taste?

      • I'm really loving the Colombia Nora, it leaves a great aftertaste!

  • How long is this deal sticking around for? I have enough coffee for a few more weeks yet, but I'm really keen to try this when my current batch runs out.

    • Always have some good coffees on the go! Don't panic; just hit me up when you're ready and I'll look after you :)

  • Is the $35.00 deal inclusive of shipping too?
I assumed it was from your description. However when checking out, the shipping cost was added into the total cost.
So want to confirm I wasn't doing anything wrong. Cheers.

    • Yup includes express Aus Post shipping :) That's nearly half the cost haha

      • Ah, I see it now.
Was trying to get the one with the 2 extra resealable bags. With that one, shipping was added.
Are you able to make this package free shipping too?

        • Sorry, must have not accounted for this in the button parameters. Happy to honor free shipping but would request that you use the send funds button in Paypal and send to [email protected] This will allow correct funds and notes to be left :)

        • @mannabeans:

All good. I bought the one without the resealable bags. Hopefully when you run similar deals in the future, this particular option would be fixed. Else, I'll use your recommendation :)

On the coffee side of things, I love the taste of Colombia Noria.

  • Hi Mannabeans

I emailed you guys a few days back about a broken bag of beans I got in my last order, but haven't heard anything back. I've had a few orders previously and this is the first one I have had any issues with.

    Regards
    Brett

    • Hey Brett,

I presume that my team fixed this up for you but please shoot me through an email to [email protected] if this is not the case :) Thanks very much

      Cheers
      Simon

      • Hi Simon.

No i never heard back but I will email again now.

        Regards
        Brett

        • Thanks Brett, can't locate email but have replied below and also it appears Flora is assisting now with the Aus Post tracking :)

          Cheers

Any upcoming love for African beans? I've really enjoyed the Ethiopians recently, and both the wife and I are preferring the flavour profiles in comparison to other beans.
