I personally just can't trust group buy vouchers relating to my car, at least if a restaurant is bad it goes out the other end…
a few years back Midas Liverpool had my gf's car on the hoist saying a $900 brake job was needed and it was against the law for them to let us take the car. After a threat of calling the cops I got the car, tightened a bleed nipple and the brakes were fine.
Franchise Car Service is all about maximising the dollars that can be milked from the punter. Expect salesmanship, rather than skilled technicians. Remember, the $55 is meant to be the bait, to make you think that you are going to get a bargain. You have as much chance of getting a bargain as Gerry Harvey reforming and giving away all his billions to charity. In my opinion it is better to find an excellent local mechanic who cares for your vehicles on a long term basis. Word of mouth recommendations from a friend, relative or work colleague are a good basis for the selection of your mechanic.
