Sunbeam Supersear Kettle King Electric BBQ $49 @ Target

50

Product description available here : https://www.sunbeam.com.au/Cooking/BBQs-and-Grills/HG6600B-K…

Looks to be a huge markdown on these. Still selling for $199 at the Good Guys and HN.

Mixed bag of reviews, I would give this a go but unable to lug this on the train with me! This is not showing up on the Target website so unsure of stock levels.

I want to say bad things about it and offer more sensible alternatives like an electric frypan on a table, or you know a George Foreman style grill, on a table. But that price is pretty good.

  • Legend. Very good price

  • Possible price match @GoodGuys and further 10% off (VIP night)?

    • it's likely the store man will say it's under cost and refuse. Besides it's just a photo and no link, which will make price matching process really hard.

I have used one of these at a friends house twice. Its inferioir in nearly every way to any decent coal or gas bbq. I am a bit of a die hard fan of coal, and I almost dont consider this a bbq, however it just passes. I am also not a fan of cookin on very high heat on Teflon covered surfaces.

Good things i can say about it is ease of starting (comapred to coal) and the abundant fuel source (any power point). It does get hot enougg, however it takes the usual time to get up and down, and unlike a cast iron grill if you load this up all at once with cold meats it will cool before it gets up again (I was having to turn it up and down a lot while cooking).

Having said that, for 49 bucks its dirt cheap if you want a very no fuss way to cook on a balcony while standing holding a beer, its not actually bad for what it is, its just that what it is isnt that great an idea

    • I guess what this is good for if you want to cook minor but very oily things and not mess up your kitchen. My hubby is a liberal oil/butter user + high heat , so the bacon etc comes out delicious, but I die a little on the inside when I have to wipe everything and mop the floor.
