Spot on. Do some research and find the best knife for your budget.
One knife can do 99% of your work in the kitchen sufficiently (for a home cook). Buy a nice knife, get a sharpener for it too.
And on a super budget. Get kiwi knives from any Asian grocer. Not as flash looking but way better than any of the stuff at this price range

These are decent knives for the price and perform ok as general purpose kitchen knives.
We've had our for years and they are still doing the job.
I have a set, not this one, but they've been great.
Especially for the price.
Had a set of Furi knives for years now, and am most happy. (My fav knife is my Shun Chef's knife, but it's a different league as far as prices.)

Bought a set of Furi 2 years ago. Not worthy the price, even it was on half price special.
